Fashionable Friday Meeting Pam And Gela of Juicy Couture and the glitter Plan at FIDM

Pam and Gela, the two best friends who founded Juicy Couture just came out with a book called the glitter plan. They are also in the middle of starting a new line together called Pam and Gela right here in LA. Last night FIDM hosted a book signing and discussion with them since Pam is a FIDM alum. Their book The glitter plan chronicles how the two founded Juicy Couture and turned it into a majorly successful brand. I would definitely recommend the book to any fashionistas out there looking to learn more about starting a fashion label or the LA fashion industry. It was a great read. At the book signing Pam and Gela talked about Juicy Couture and their design philosophy as well as heir new line Pam and Gela which they said is going to be a casual luxury brand. During the Q and A one of the audience members asked about what it was like working with your best friend and they answered that although it could be challenging they both loved it and always ended up working through their differences. They were also asked what they would do if they had founded Juicy Couture today with things like social media. They replied that they would definitely use social media because it allows anyone to take control; and advertise their brand. They are definitely using it to their advantage for their new brand as they are very active on Instagram. I enjoyed meeting them and was able to tell them about the fashion internship I was doing over the summer. I am looking forward to their new line and enjoyed reading their story.
