Halloween Masquerade Ball at the Sixty in Beverly Hills

This year I got to celebrate Halloween in style at the Halloween masquerade ball on the rooftoop of the charming Sicty Hotel in Beverly Hills. The event was hsoted by MTS development and everyone came dressed in their best masks and Halloween attire. The venue was perfect with 360 views of LA and lounge seating for relaxing and enjoying the cityscape.

There was a best dressed contest and plenty of photo ops. Bloggers and creatives from all over LA turned out to celebrate the haunted holiday in their best gowns and creative masks. The music was great and the DJ got everyone in a party mood with Halloween classics like Thriller. Soon the crowd was dancing the night away and the best part was everyone was anonymous so people were trying out all kinds of dance moves. The stylish crowd was mingling and everyone seemed to have a great time.

I wore a vintage midnight blue floor length dress with a silver mask and silver accessories. I love this dress because it has a tie back so there is no sticky zipper to worry about and it always fits like a glove regardless of if I have my summer body or my winter coat on! ;) I loved my hair and makeup look as well courtesy of my BFF Chapman's beauty! This girl is so talented! The whole night was so fun and the masquerade added an extra element of mystery putting me in the Halloween mood! Check out my look below!

Closing Night of LAFW at the Petersen Automotive Museum

This year LAFW held their Spring/Summer 2019 showcase at the Petersen Automotive museum. I attended closing night to see their all star lineup of designers including Irina Malchuk, Irish Latina, Nor, and Bohemian Society. The runway was on the second floor of the msueum and models walked down the catwalk with the amazing vintage cars and specialty models from brands like Porsche, Ford, and Infiniti in the background. I headed to the lounge where there were so many high fashion photo ops and fun displays.

They even had a makeup station where guests could do touch ups to look runway ready and I loved using my new Shiseido lipstick in my favorite fuschia shade that matched my dress perfectly for the night!
I loved this garden inspired art by XO Bloom.

I also got to attend with my friend the owner of Rsolute Boutique who came all the way to LA from Alaska! It was so much fun showing her fashion week! The star studded guest list for LA fashion week included Elie Madi who recieved the Moss Adams design award and has designed for A-list celebrities such as JLo, Gwen Stefani and Katy Perry. Former NBA player Kibwe Khari and an America’s Next Top model contestant were also in the front row right next to yours truly!

The first show of the night, Irinia Malchuk kicked things off with a glittery 70s inspired collection. The runway really had a shine to it with these beautiful gowns and fun flirty styles. This pair of lace boots was a crowd favorite and totally unique.

Next, Irish Latina, an eco-friendly brand made of recycled t-shirts kicked things up with an exotic dance performance right on the runway. The models followed strutting down the catwalk in the flouncy and brightly colored designs. Each design had a fun style on the back such as bows or lace up corsets. The collection had a hint of retro style to it as well. I loved all the bright colors and feminine details from this collection.

Then we got a special treat from Nor, a brand from Norway that brought beautiful simple Nordic designs to the runway. My favorite was this simple yet elegant blue dress. The fabric was draped in the middle to form a snowflake pattern and the dress reminded me of something from the Frozen movie!

Finally the show closed with a rockin performance from Bohemian Lifestyle, a fun and loud brand with an artistic flair. The show was also designed to be a story in itself and each model played a character. There were so many interesting things to watch including a model who even skateboarded down the runway! There were also models who took pictures of the audience. The surrealist quality of the show made an artistic statement about the current state of the fashion industry. The reversal of roles from the audience taking pictures to now having the models take pictures of the audience was a reminder about our social media obsessed society. The audience loved it and everyone participated posing and photo bombing the pictures. There was also a set of models coming down the runway posing and shooting like in a photo session. The models looked like they could be acting out the life of a blogger or influencer and made an important statement about the changing fashion marketing trends today. The model and photographer looked like they were almost in their own world and moved seamlessly down the runway changing angels and poses as they walked. There were also several other talented models on the runway including a set of dancers who gave a beautiful performance in matching turquoise dresses that flowed with the dance.

All in all it was a great show and a fun night with friends and amazing designs!

Jordyn Woods Gets Her MakeUp Done by Celebrity Artist Patrick Ta

Today I headed into Hollywood for an exclusive event at Quixote Studios put on by Shiseido makeup featuring Jordyn Woods and Patrick Ta. Plus many more celebs showed up for the fun later in the evening. Annalynne McCord, Lauren Bushnell and more stepped out on the red carpet and Jordyn Woods gave me an exclusive interview where she spilled about her 21st birthday and more!

Jordyn and Patrick stepped out on stage and talked to the crowd like we were all at a slumber party together. They were both so excited to try out the new products from Shiseido. Jordyn had no idea what Patrick was going to do for her so the final makeup look was a surprise. Halfway through Patrick asked her if she was nervous about the final look and she said, "Just a little bit!" Patrick told the audience his inspiration for today's look saying that he was originally inspired by the makeup he saw girls wearing on his recent trip to Tokyo.
He said, "It was all about shapes and that's what I'm doing today. In Tokyo everything is about being cutesy."
Patrick pulled out the Shiseido sparkling blush next and talked about how the girls in Tokyo used makeup to look cute rather than to appear sexier. He told us that blush was his favorite thing to apply to create a cutesy look because there was no way blush could look sexy.
Jordyn jumped in saying, "Don't get it twisted. Blush can be sexy, anything can be sexy if you want it to be." Everyone laughed.
Patrick continued with the look and gave the audience tips for looking red carpet ready while he worked.
He shared his top recommendations for a show stopping look saying, "Don't put highlighter on the smile lines or the middle of the forehead because it looks bad in photographs." And looking at Jordyn's final look he definitely knew what he was doing. I loved this tip because as a blogger I'm always taking pictures and you never know what kind of lighting you're going to be dealing with.
On the topic of highlighter he also said, "There's a fine line between dewy and oily." And less is definitely more when it comes to highlighter.
Jordyn added in her thoughts on experimenting with makeup while Patrick worked on her surprise look. She said, "I think makeup is the one thing that you can really have fun with. You can be wearing basic all black but if your makeup is fun nobody is paying attention to your outfit."
Finally it was time for the big reveal and Jordyn ended up loving the look!
She told me, "I actually really like it. Normally when I get my make up done I like to watch the process but this time I just let him do his thing. This is the first time he ever did my makeup. It's definitley there but it doesn't feel to heavy either. It actually all feels so light that I forgot that I look like this and every time I look in the mirror I'm like, Oh Okay."
I also talked with Jordyn after the big reveal to get the scoop on her favorite makeup looks and her recent birthday celebration. After the big reveal Shiseido presented Jordyn with a cake since she had just turned 21 a few days before and everyone sang happy birthday to help celebrate!
She told me that one of her favorite things to do was to match her makeup look to her outfit. She excitedly told me about one of her recent looks saying, "I like things to go well together. So normally I only get my makeup done if I have an event to go to but I like everything just to look cohesive so like the other night for my birthday look I was wearing this kind of holographic like red dress thing so I figured a gold eye would look good with it since there were gold accents in the dress."
After blowing out her candles Jordyn excitedly shared what it felt like finally being 21 with me. She told me a little about her party saying that she hadn't wanted to do the typical night in the club and had instead opted for a quieter celebration with her close friends and family. She said, "Yeah its crazy I feel like it happened so fast. I feel like after 18 21 is the next big birthday and I can't believe it's finally here! I'm 21 I'm legal it's actually happening and I feel like it's the next chapter for life"
The reality star is certainly headed for big things but growing up hasn't meant losing any closeness with her family. Jordyn took several selfies with her mom who accompanied her to the event looking so proud of her daughter all day.
As the event wrapped up everyone got gift bags filled with some fun Shiseido make up goodies that I can't wait to try out. Keep an eye out for my future posts to find out what was in it!

Vintage Shopping on Melrose

Today I headed into Melrose to check out the vintage stores for a fall wardrobe refresh. I had so much fun looking through the stores and found some great pieces. There is something for everyone on Melrose from designer vintage pieces to more funky retro styles. I also loved showing off my fall outfit and found this cute hippy car to take pictures next to! Check out all the fun below.
