New year New Apartment! Check out my apt tour video!

This year on NewYears Eve I moved in to a brand new apartment! My first adult apartment that I decorated myself! I found tons of awesome DIY projects and organizing tips on Pinterest and I am sharing some of my favorites in this blog post! You can watch my apartment tour video here to see how it all came together!

Easy Picture Set Using Scrapbook Paper

I love this project because finding pictures that match your decor and color scheme can be extremely challenging not to mention expensive! I found 3 pieces of scrapbook paper in similar patterns and the colors that I wanted and used them to create a set of 3 pictures for my bedroom. The paper was 99 cents each and the 12x12 frames were $10 each so in total it was only $33! Check out how it came out below! For mine, I went with a French decorative theme and chose some corresponding patterns and then hung mine in an ascending line. You could also do 4 and put them together in a square which I think looks really nice as well! I added borders to mine and depending on the pattern and theme in your room you could as well. All these items can be found in the scrapbooking section at Micheal's or Hobby lobby!

Kate Spade Gallery Wall for Your Home Office

I found this idea on Pinterest and loved it since I am a huge Kate Spade fan! I made all the posters myself using more scrapbook glitter paper and then sketched out this cool fashion design as well. This project is easy, just find some inspiring quotes that will motivate you in your work space and then you can design some posters. Polka dot or floral patterned paper is another good material to use to complete the theme. Here's mine as well as some other versions from Pinterest.

Pink Paris Bathroom

I decided to go with a pink Paris bathroom since I already had pink towels. I made the artwork and then used an Eiffel Tower figurine and a betsy Johnson shower curtain to complete the look. I made this poster using canvas and glitter. I traced the letters so they would be even and used one of my favorite Christian Dior quotes, "Pink is the color of happiness". For the second picture I used a calendar photo from an old calender I had. It was pretty easy, I just had to find a frame that was the right size and the photo looks professional but I didn't have to pay for it! The soap dish I made at color Me Mine!

Cherry Kitchen

Of course I had to include my Cherry kitchen on this blog since it is all about cherries around here. I found this beautiful tablecloth at a farmers market in LA. The red chair cushions are from bed bath and beyond and my dish towel is another handmade item! I just attached a piece of cherry patterned cloth to the towel for decoration. I also created this watercolor cherry painting to add some artwork to the dining room.

Crazy Rich Asians Star Fiona Xie is Bringing the Power Suit Back!

Hollywood is going all out for Awards Season as usual and this year I got to cover the official Golden Globes Pre-Party on Sunset Blvd where I interviewed Crazy Rich Asians star Fiona Xie about her style and her favorite part about this year's awards! Xie plays Kitty Pong, fashionable girlfriend to Jimmy Yang in the movie which was nominated for two Golden Globes this year! Watch my video to see the full interview and hear what she has to say about working on the movie and creating an empowering female character! She told me in our interview that she opted for a suit on the red carpet this year instead of a gown because she thinks women look amazing in tailored suits! Her style and positive energy are so inspiring and she definitely represents that girlboss style well! In previous interviews she has also said that she thinks it's important to use the platform she was given for change and even turned down the Kitty Pong role at first because she thought it would be too limiting. After talking with the director she was able to compromise and give the character more depth and "make her vulnerable". What an inspiring figure! I can't wait to see more of this fashionable female powerhouse!

CdM Fashion Careers: Tara Millamena Influencer and Instagram Queen

Meet Tara Millamena, Youtuber, Instagram influencer and fashion lover. She is living her dream of being a fashion influencer and collaborating with some of her favorite brands. Find out how she makes the dream work in the interview below!

Being an influencer is such a confusing term to people and it can mean so many things how do you define it?I define being an influencer as someone who has the exposure to inspire people. Whether they inspire you to travel to a country you never thought of, read a book you never heard of, or try a new makeup look, influencers can inspire in many little ways. Ultimately the goal is to create a community of like minded individuals.

Did you always know this was something you wanted to do?
In 2011, I stumbled upon the very beginning of what is known as being an "influencer." Girls were just starting to put up videos on Youtube and just having organic conversations with their audience. At the time, the audiences were always very small. Regardless, I always found it intriguing so I started putting up Youtube videos with similar content. That become my little hobby. Fast forward 8 years later and this little hobby I once knew is now a whole industry. So in a way, yes, I was always interested in being in this industry.

When did you make the decision to go full time?
2018 was the first year I made any income from being an influencer. It started out as not being consistent but by the end of the year I was able to make it a side gig. I have seen huge progress from when I first started and I know with consistent hard work this is something that potentially can be full time.
How do you manage your time and make sure you stay productive?
I believe that it is important to set SHORT term goals for yourself. It is easy to see the big picture of what you want for your life but creating steps on how to get there little by little can be hard and overwhelming so creating short term goals helps you manage your time on a daily basis. It also shows you that without being productive on a daily basis it will take you longer to reach your goal.

Do you receive guidelines from brands when doing a sponsored post or do you get to use your own creativity to design shoots and write captions?
Most of the time, if a brand chooses you for a sponsored post that means that they already like your work so they don't really tell you how to take the photos/what to caption. They just let you know what hashtags and what tag to use for their brand. But there are times that a brand will direct you on what they specifically want but I personally haven't experienced too many brands that do that.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? I see myself still being in a creative field like this. Another reason I loving being an influencer is because I love being in front of the camera and creating my own content. So anything that gives me creative freedom!

What is your most successful platform? Why do you think that is?
My most successful platform is instagram and that is because I put the most time into it. I post consistently on it and I engage in other people's profiles more.  Instagram is also very easy to be on. It is quick and straighforward  I do want to develop my Youtube more- just to have another platform that I am consistent on.

What would you recommend to aspiring influencesrs?
I would first focus on making sure that whatever you post is "crisp quality." You don't need to invest in any camera gear. I take all my Instagram photos on my iPhone8 Plus. I just make sure that I take my photos in good lighting (outdoors) and use a consistent filter. That is really all that you need when first starting out. As for content, share whatever you want to share. The right people who are interested in the same things as you will gravitate toward you!

The Top 10 Most Instagram Worthy Spots in Las Vegas

I spent a few days in Vegas this holiday season and had so much fun doing some photo shoots for my blog I wanted to share some of my favorite photo ops guaranteed to get you tons of likes on the gram! Below you'll find some of my favorite places to snap a great OOTN pic and catch all the Vegas lightsss in the background! Happy Instagramming!

1.The chandelier bar at the Cosmopolitan Hotel

This is just an all around cool spot to see in Vegas and provides a great backdrop for photos if you head to the third floor of the Cosmo lobby. Another good spot is the staircase inside the bar but it can often be crowded so the mezzanine level still gives you great views of the crystals and has brighter lighting as well.

Best time for photos: Anytime until late evening when the strip starts filling up with all the Vegas vacationers heading out to party.

2. The Paris Pool

The Paris Pool is a great place to relax and enjoy that Vegas getaway, but even if you're not staying at the hotel you can still get some great views of the Eiffel tower by the pool's entrance. If you are lucky enough to stay at the resort I recommend getting a couple pics under the Eiffel tower leg that stretches over the pool which can make for some really cool and interesting shots.

Best time for photos: If you are just going to the pool entrance early afternoon to late afternoon is best so the pool area won't be too crowded. If you are going into the pool area it's really hit or miss but generally the earlier the better.

3. The fountains in the Paris Casino

There are several beautiful fountains on the Paris Casino floor. If you walk through the hallway lined with shops that connects the Paris to the Bally's hotel you will find a great fountain under a beautiful intricately designed ceiling. If you continue into the casino there is another fountain near the Eiffel tower leg right across from Gordon Ramsay's steak restaurant. This one makes for a great photo op because it has a back so you won't get any people in the background of your photo.

Best time for photos: For the fountain near the shops I would recommend early morning time for photos because the hallway is almost always crowded during the day. For the fountain on the Casino floor anytime during the day should be pretty quiet.

4.The Breezeway at the entrance to the Bellagio Hotel

Tourists are always looking to get that classic Vegas glamour shot with the fountains of the Bellagio going off in the background. And it is a pretty amazing view but, most people try to take the picture from one of the alcoves on the strip which are always crowded and don't leave very much space to zoom out. My favorite hidden spot for fountain photos is the breezeway along the side of the Bellagio which you can access after walking out the front of the hotel lobby. The beautiful archways give a perfect view of the fountains and the breezeway is almost always less crowded than the strip.

Best time for photos: Early morning is your best bet to beat the crowds.

5.The Shops at the Bellagio

The Bellagio is an all around picturesque hotel and totally worth exploring because it seems like every corner has something else beautiful to look at. The shops in the Bellagio have some great places for photo ops like the grand balconies that look out over the fountains in the front of the hotel. You can't actually go out on the balconies but you can still get some great views through the windows plus it's so fun to check out all the designer stores and see the latest fashions here!

Best time for photos: Early afternoon is a good time to get optimal lighting and beat the crowds here.

6.The Eiffel Tower Restaurant in the Paris hotel

The restuarant in the Eiffel tower at the Paris hotel is a must see spot in Vegas. Fun fact, it is actually inspired by the real restaurant on the third floor of the Eiffel Tower in Paris called Jules Verne and has similar architecture and style. This is a great spot to enjoy some delicious food in Vegas as well as take some amazing pictures with 360 degree views of the strip. Bonus: for foodies the food in this place is pretty insta-worthy in itself!

Best time for photos: A lunch date with your girls or an early afternoon snack to quell your sweet tooth with one of their amazing desserts is the perfect time to get great photos of the views of this place. Dinnertime can be very dark and makes it harder to capture a good photo.

7. The High Roller

This is something you should do in Vegas anyways because it is honestly pretty cool! The high roller is the Las Vegas observation wheel and stands at 550 feet tall! It is a one of a kind experience viewing the Vegas skyline from the High Roller and a super fun way to top off your trip! There are obviously great views but it can sometimes be hard to get the right photo through the glass. Luckily you'll get several chances as it's a pretty long ride.

Best time for photos: Sunset is the perfect time to catch the glittering lights while still being able to see the landscape. Crowds aren't really an issue since it just depends on how many people get put in your pod!

8. The Shops at the Wynn

The Wynn is another one of my favorite hotels in Vegas because everything is decked out to the max all the time here! It's such a fun place to explore. I recommend starting with the shops which wind along with beautiful displays from all the biggest brands like Dior, Fendi, and more and then end in the hotel lobby with a beautiful tree lined pathway INSIDE the hotel! The trees are lit up and the whole thing makes for an elegant photo! During the holidays they dress it up even more with a carousel made entirely of flowers and other sparkling displays hidden in the trees.

Best time for photos: Early morning is best but there are always crowds of guests around since this display leads straight to the check in desk.

9. The Fountains at the Wynn

That's right there is still more to see at this hotel! If you continue outside to the front of the hotel you will come across a beautiful bridge with some waterfalls and fountains in the background. The whole atmosphere is very fancy because they play old fashioned big band music in the background. It is a great place to wander through and stop for some glamour shots!

Best time for photos: Mid-morning is a good time to beat the crowds but sunset is also a great time to visit because the fountains light up and change colors!

10. The Botanical Gardens at the Bellagio

The Bellagio is back on this list again! The Botanical gardens are a really amazing thing to see in Vegas and definitely a really cool unique experience! They design a different theme every year and always have elaborate flower sculptures made from exotic and rare blooms. The Holidays is one of my favorite times to go because the hotel really goes all out for the season!

Best time for photos: In my experience this attraction is pretty much always crowded but early morning is probably your best bet.
