On March 15 I headed over to Huntington Beach for the annual Cherry Blossom Festival to celebrate the beautiful blooms and the official arrival of Spring! The festival was filled with every variety of pink and white outfit you could think of as everyone really got into the spirit. The cherry blossom trees planted by the Tree Society of Huntington Beach were in full bloom and made for a great backdrop. The festival had music, food, and cultural activities for visitors. It is a way to celebrate the sister city to Huntington Beach, Anjo Japan, and so there was all kinds of Japanese food and music to try!
Several
bands played on the stage while people enjoyed their lunch or treats on the
grass. Another fun activity was the tea ceremony demonstration put on by local
experts. The ceremony included tasters of traditional green tea and sweets
served in authentic Japanese tea ceremonies. There was so much to learn and
experience throughout the day!
Of
course there were also tons of great photo ops and you can check out my outfit
for the day below.
I had so much fun posing with the different creative
backdrops they had set up. Plus, I got the chance to wear my new Nanette Lepore
sneakers which were perfect for the event and for my cherry blossom themed
outfit because they had literal pink blossoms on them. The blog name Cerisesdumatin, means “Cherries in the Morning” in French and if you know
me you know I love all things cherries! So this festival combines my two
favorite things, pink and cherries and I would definitely recommend checking it
out next year! I was so excited to find out we had one of our own right here in
SoCal because I have actually traveled to Washington DC for their cherry
blossom festival and I would definitely recommend going to that one as well if
you ever get the chance! These trees only bloom for a few weeks out of every
year and it truly is an amazing sight to see! Plus the perfect excuse to wear an all pink outfit and show off that millennial pink style!
