Beauty Fans Unite! BeautyCon Los Angeles Returns After 3 Years

 This year BeautyCon LA the festival that celebrates beauty content creators and the latest trends in makeup returned with a new look after 3 years. The festival which was put on by Essence, came back with a stellar line-up of celebrity guest speakers and brands who came to show off how the beauty industry has evolved. 

While the festival was smaller than in years past, it still drew new and old fans alike who came to try out the free product giveaways and meet their favorite beauty content creators and business owners. This year the brands were more inclusive than ever featuring small female owned businesses and inclusive brands such as Good Weird that make makeup for all genders. The festival kicked off on Saturday with giveaways from Wal Mart, Palmers, As I Am, Black Radiance, and more. Female owned brand Keep it Classy nails, which was founded by Real Housewives star Moneytta Shaw-Carter made a special appearance with founder and influencer Moneytta working the booth and greeting fans. 

Other celebrity appearances throughout the weekend included Peyton List who promoted her new brand Play Cosmetics, Kelly Rowland, Tia Mowry and more. The programming featured several panels that went in depth on hot topics in the beauty industry such as finding balance in motherhood, diversity and representation in the beauty industry, turning your passions into profit, and sustainability in the beauty industry. Fans got to see their favorite creators on stage discussing the latest on everything makeup, hair, and business. 

The event also featured tons of fun photo ops where guests enjoyed creating content and grabbing pics of their best beauty looks and outfits.

Manna Kadar Stars on the Cover of Harper's Bazaar Vietnam

Beauty maven Manna Kadar celebrated her feature on the Harper's Bazaar Vietnam cover shot by celebrity photographer Jim Jordan with an amazing party held at the Hotel Laguna under a cotton candy sunset. The party started with a pink carpet where local celebs such as RHOC star Gretchen Rossi, Amber Johnson founder of the Facial Lounge, and Bling Empire star TJ Tsay showed up to celebrate in their best pink outfits.

 There were games, photo ops, drinks, and even cake! The event was full of pink and the claw beauty game where guests could try to win a prize from the Manna Kadar beauty line was a huge hit. Manna thanked her guests for coming to celebrate the special night and spoke about the importance of taking a pause to celebrate accomplishments which is a great reminder! It is important to stop and congratulate ourselves even though it can be easy to get caught up in what's next! She shared her inspiration for the pink theme of the night telling me that she felt the fun color was perfect for the celebration. 

After a champagne toast to celebrate the amazing host guests headed home with beauty giftbags full of beauty supplies from the Manna Kadar line. The night was a huge success. 

What I wore to the Jonathan Marc Stein Fashion Show + Copy my Look with this Tutorial!

 I had such a great time dressing up and getting out again to attend the Jonathan Marc Stein Fashion Show in LA last month. I decided to go with this retro look inspired by 60s fashion and needed some makeup to match.

 I was in a rush to leave and didn't want to spend a ton of time on winged eyeliner. Luckily I had the Cleopatra Cat Eye stamp by Lyda beauty! This little tool has saved the day for me so many times. I love how easy it is to use and how it makes the perfect retro cat eye look simple to achieve! The Pro Safety Beauty Summit: My Favorite Beauty Products of 2021

2020 brought so many changes to the world and has created so many new trends for every industry. The beauty industry in particular has had to come up with innovative ways to adapt and many trends are here to stay. That is what the new Pro Safety Beauty Summit is all about. This virtual event will cover all of the latest trends in the beauty industry and what new directions the beauty world is headed in 2021. 1. RMS Beauty living luminizer 

The RMS Beauty living luminizer is a great beauty product because it is super versatile which will definitely be a trend in 2021. This sparkly finishing luminizer goes over top of any makeup look and really brightens it up! It is the perfect thing to achieve that dewy skin look that can be so difficult to create with heavy makeup. You can check out my NYE makeup tutorial to see how I used it in real life! 

2. Hand sanitizing spray 

This moisturizing hand sanitizer spray is one of my favorite products because I have always been conscious about germs even before 2020. I love that this one is also moisturizing because as we all know sanitizers can really dry your hands out after a lot of use. This way when I'm on the go I can take care of moisturizing and also keep my hands clean at the same time! I also love that it comes in a spray which is much more convenient than the gels. Plus I can spray it on my arms too if I need to which let's be honest, sometimes you just want to sanitize everything after traveling in a big crowd!

 

3. The hair wipe 

The hair wipe is another really innovative product I am interested to try. This shampoo wipe works on all hair types and is completely rinse free for when you're on the go. It is also small and convenient to carry with you if you don't have room for a dry shampoo.

NYE Glam MakeUp and Hair

 

 

 Happy New Years everybody! I wanted to share this tutorial with you for a fun and sparkly NYE makeup and hair style featuring some new products that I am absolutely loving right now. 

First I started with my hair. For the hair style I went with a gentle wave and wanted my hair to be very smooth and shiny for this look. Using the JOICO violet smoothing foam to prep my hair I was able to get a great curl that was not frizzy and laid very nicely. I also used the JOICO Blondelife line including the shampoo, conditioner, and hair mask before I styled my hair. Then I added the brightening veil which really helped give my hair a good color and prepped it for styling. I also used some of my favorite go to products for my hair including the CHI iron guard to protect my hair from the heat and the Big Sexy Hair mousse for lift and texture to help the curls stay. Check out the new technique I tried to achieve these waves in my video! 

Next I created a glittery NYE makeup look using some of my favorite brands like Shiseido, Ofra cosmetics, Becca cosmetics, Marc Jacobs and more as well as some brand new products!

I started with this Shiseido self refreshing foundation that also has spf 30 in it. I love the feel of this silky smooth foundation and the fact that it protects your skin from the sun as well! I mixed two colors, lace and ivory together to achieve a tone that matched my skin. I also used my brand new Ofra highlighter in Rodeo Drive which I got on sale during black Friday! I love how sparkly the Ofra highlighters are they really pick up the light and seem to last! I finished off with a new product called a living luminizer by RMS beauty. I love this pearly finish because it is so versatile. You can really use it for so many things. I put mine on top of my cheeks and the inside corners of my eyes. For my eyeshadow I used the Marc Jacobs Very merry cherry palette along with some other colors from my Shiseido eye palette. For the finishing touch I used this Shiseido shimmergel gloss in Shin-Ku red and my new Sweet Street cosmetics lip color in bright red for a festive and vintage holiday vibe.

The Ultimate London Beauty Experience: My Tilbury Transformation in Covent Garden

During my stay in London I made sure to hit all the most fashionable tourist spots because I didn't want to miss that famous London High Street look!

I also made a special stop at the famous Covent Gardens which is a market in London that's popular with many local fashion bloggers and full of chic stores and cute photo ops! I was invited to get my Tilbury Transformation at the Charlotte Tilbury London store in Covent Gardens and couldn't wait to check out the location! I already covered the opening of Charlotte Tilbury's very first LA store at the Grove this summer and was so excited to see what the original London boutique had in store for me! When I arrived at the shop I headed downstairs to the very royal looking beauty lounge and checked in for my make up appointment. My artist Billie was so friendly and helped me take some before and after pictures for you guys so you can see my transformation!

She started with the skincare routine to give my face a natural glow and then applied the new airbrush foundation that I have been dying to try! The foundation was super light but gave great coverage and stayed on all day! After finishing with my face she started working on my eyes and even let me try the brand new Starry Eyes pallette along with the Rose Gold cream eyeshadow.

 I love the Rose Gold cream color because it easily blends into the skin and stays shimmery all day long!

Finally we finished my look with a pop of color to match my outfit. This lipstick color is called "The Queen" and I am in love with this bright and bold shade! It matched my dress perfectly and definitely has a royal and sophisticated tone to it making it different from a traditional bright pink lip. Check out the amazing results below! I headed off to my afternoon tea looking and feeling very posh as the brits would say! I would definitely recommend stopping by the store for fans of the brand! I scheduled my transformation for right before my Pret a Portea reservation at the Berkeley hotel and I can definitely say that getting my makeup done by a Tilbury expert really made a difference! It saved me so much time and hassle getting ready and came out way better than anything I could've done at my hotel so I would definitely recommend making an appointment if you are on the go!

Simply OC returns to Fashion Island with an Amazing line up of guest speakers

This year the annual Simply Fashion conference returned to Fashion Island with an amazing line up of experts across the fashion, beauty, and lifestyle spaces. The weekend kicked off with a fashion panel including Content Creator Cassydy Berliner, jewelry designer Gorjana Reidel, TV star Courtney Kerr, celebrity stylist Lo VonRumpf, designer Lindsay Albanese and TV personality Carly Steel. They talked about the latest industry trends and shared their advice with the audience. Next up was the beauty panel with appearances from blogger Christine Kong, TV star Courtney Kerr, celebrity makeup artist Joyce Bonelli, Founder of O Cosmetiques Olia Majd and Founder of GlowTopia Diana Madison. They shared some amazing make up tips! Finally the night ended with a digital marketing panel from .experts Glee Star Becca Tobin, Founder of Planoly Brandy Pham, Content Creator Quigley, model Rocky Barnes and Founder of Elevate My Brand Laurel Wintz. The audience got a special treat with the closing speech by Ashlee Simpson Ross who shared all about her take on fashion, fall and more! It was a great event filled with fun, networking, and expert advice! Not to mention all the great fashions!

The festival has always been a place to put the spotlight on changemakers in the beauty and influencer industry and this year was no exception with a lineup of influential speakers including Tina Knowles Lawson, Priyanka Chopra, Kelly Rowland, Ariana Huffington and more! The theme coming from this year's speakers this year was "keeping it real" and many addressed the social media driven space beauty and influencer businesswomen work with reminding aspiring influencers in the audience that social media doesn't always reflect real life. Even the successful speakers and female business owners admitted that the hard work doesn't stop once you reach success and that women still have a long way to go when it comes to equality in leadership roles.
The main message everyone could agree on at the conference was that no matter who you are and what you're doing it's important to practice self love.

Live the Blonde Life: My Tips for Getting the Perfect Summer Beach Hair

This summer I decided it was time for an update to my hairstyle. Summer is definitely the time for a cut if you've been thinking about it because a shorter style can do wonders for keeping you cool on those hot summer days. I know I was ready for a style that could be quickly ready to go since I have a ton of summer travel plans and need an easy low maintenance do! I went to the experts at Kasai hair salon located in Manhattan Beach for the perfect playful beachy summer cut. Read all about my experience at the salon below to see how it came out!

I headed down to Manhattan Beach and arrived at the beautiful Kasai Salon where I got the full VIP treatment.

The salon has such a relaxing atmosphere and even has ocean views from their outdoor patio. My stylist gave me a great cut with these fun bouncy layers that made my hair feel so much lighter without looking too short! They styled my hair giving me a blowout that lasted for the rest of the day as well and kept my hair feeling full! The salon is also launching a new line of products by celebrity hairstylist and owner Kasai. I got a sneak preview of the line which is currently only available in the salon but will be launching online soon! The line includes shampoos, conditioners, and hair masks for all hair types!

After getting my cut and style I headed down to the beach to enjoy the perfect sunny day! Everything stayed in place perfectly as you can see from my pictures! I love this cut and will be wearing it all summer with my favorite hair products from Joico.

I use the Blonde Life line to wash and condition my hair and love how this line works with my new haircut! Plus it smells amazing so that's an extra bonus! Blondes really do have more fun!
