4th of July Style: Shine in Bold Stars and Stripes with My Favorite Summer Beauty Products

I paired this blue and white striped jacket with these bright red shorts and my favorite festive Kate Spade star print purse for an amazing patriotic and fierce outfit. The oversized jacket paired with shorts is one of my favorite street style trends of the summer. Finish it off with a pair of wedges for a polished look ready for a rooftop celebration with your friends!

For my makeup look I started with the Shiseido WASO skincare line to make sure my skin was plump and moisturized before applying make up. Then I started with my favorite Becca backlight primer which is my favorite product for prepping my skin because it really brings out the shine when I apply the rest of my products! I use Fenty matte foundation and this Shiseido blush that has a little sparkle in it. Then I add in my highlighter using my NYX contouring pallette. I blend together the gold and champagne colors for a nice natural summer glow.
For my eyes, I started out with my Tarte mascara and used my Desert Oasis Pallette from BH cosmetics. My favorite shade in this pallette is called quartz which I applied in the corner of my eyes, then I used the gold sparkly sands on my lids and the beautiful dark turquoise blue color in the corners. I used my Dior brow pencil in Strawberry blonde to highlight my brows.
For my lips I used the brand new Charlotte Tilbury hotlips 2 lipstick in Patsy Red. Then I added my Lip Bar rose gold lipstick on top for a golden shimmer.

On Wednesday night Charlotte Tilbury and several celebrity influencer guests took over the brand new Charlotte Tilbury store in the Grove to celebrate the grand opening of the celebrity make up artist's first US store. Of course the beauty guru to the stars chose LA for her first permanent Beauty Wonderland location since she is all about Hollywood Glam makeup. She has worked with A list celebs such as Natalie Portman, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Kate Moss, Nicole Kidman and tons more!

She also just launched a brand new line of her popular Hotlips line of lipsticks and they are all named after celebrities she loves like Edward Enniful, JK Rowling, Kylie Minogue, Amal Clooney, Jennifer Aniston and more! I learned all about the new line at the event because this line is benefiting a very special cause for Charlotte Tilbury. She has pledged to donate 1 million pounds to Women for Women, a charity that helps women in underdeveloped countries like the Democratic Republic of the Congo and many more! These lipsticks truly represent a great cause! 

Another one of my favorite things about this line is the packaging! Not only is it beautiful, it is sustainable and good for the environment because Charlotte specifically designed the tubes to be easily refilled so customers can keep their original packaging and purchase refill lip shades.

Charlotte brought her signature British luxury to Hollywood to create an amazing paradise for beauty lovers in the store. Every detail was carefully thought out from the beauty boudoir where guests could get their makeup done by experts to the Fountain of Youth where guests can experience the best skincare products from the brand. The London society meets LA glamour theme makes for a fun and luxurious shopping experience. I got to meet Charlotte at the exclusive pre-party where the fashion and beauty world's elite came out to celebrate the occasion!

First she stopped by the Charlotte Tilbury counter in Nordstrom to see her LA team and take pics! Then she made a quick wardrobe change and stepped onto the red carpet for the launch party wearing a sparkly black floorlength gown. Guests started to arrive and enjoyed the refreshments and hors d'oevres as well as beauty treatments in the beauty boudoir. Some of the celebrities in attendance included influencers Nicole Williams, Chloe Morello, Jade Marie, and of course yours truly!

For my red carpet look I decided to go for a British inspired style using the red, white, and blue color theme and completed my look with a hat a la Pippa Middleton. Charlotte even popped by for a pic with me and commented on my look! What do you guys think? Could I be a royal darlings? 

The event was a great success and I even got the exclusive on some new product launches that the brand will be rolling out this fall! I can't wait to see more from this amazing brand!

I wore this amazing Kate Spade dress with navy blue polka dots and it even has pockets which you know I can't pass up! Then I accessorized with my Steve Madden red pumps, this bright red Kate Spade polka dot purse to match, my red and white hat, and topped it off with red lips! 

I pinned my hair up in a side twist to complete the elegant outfit and used my Kollectin pearls to pull everything together! 

No Sew Denim DIY: How to Create the Cutest Painting Apron from an Old Pair of Jeans

After doing some spring cleaning I always seem to find that one pair of jeans that just aren't in style anymore. I decided to re purpose my old denim that doesn't fit into this cute apron! I love this idea because I am an artist in my free time but this apron can also work for cooking or really any messy hobby you might have! I am all about upcycling and this is a great way to find a new use for an old pair of jeans and they don't even have to be your size! And the best part is you can easily do this project without a sewing machine!
You can find most of the materials in your house too!

What You'll Need

1. Old pair of jeans with pockets on the back
2. Ribbon
3. a piece of lace or ruffle
4. fabric glue

Step 1. Cut the back out of the jeans 

This will be the part you use for your apron. The back two pockets are already sewn in for you so you don't have to make your own pockets! Cut the jeans just above the crotch so that you have a full piece. When cutting up the side try to get two belt loops one on either side if your jeans have belt loops. You'll use these later to attach the ribbon.

Step 2. Attach lace or ribbon along the bottom of the apron

Use the fabric glue to attach the lace or ribbon along the bottom of the apron in a straight line. Your apron may have a wrinkle towards the bottom depending on how close you cut to the crotch of the jeans. Attach the ribbon above this wrinkle. Once you have glued on the ribbon you can cut along the bottom of the apron to remove any denim that is showing and that will help to get rid of the wrinkle.

Step 3. Tie Ribbon to Belt Loops

Now you take two pieces of ribbon and tie them to the belt loops on either side of the apron. You can also fold the ribbon over the belt loop and glue it down if you don't want a knot showing. Make sure the ribbon pieces are long enough to tie around your waist as this is how you'll put the apron on!

Step 4. Enjoy! 

Now you have a finished apron to wear for your next crafting project! You can decorate the apron with fabric markers or glitter if you wish! I happened to have an old pair of jeans that already had flowers on the back so I didn't need to do any extra decorating.

I hope this idea helps you next time you come across a pair of jeans you just don't want anymore! It can even be a fun project to do with your friends and have everyone bring their own pair of jeans! It can really be done anywhere since you don't need a sewing machine!

SHRD HairCare Launches at Ken Paves Salon in West Hollywood

Last night I headed over to the beautiful Ken Paves salon for an exclusive party held in their beautiful courtyard. The salon was offering blowouts and SHRD haircare was giving out their new line of nutritive shampoo and conditioners. The courtyard was beautifully decorated with lights and candles for the intimate gathering.

Everyone came out to celebrate the launch in style and enjoy the delicious sushi provided by Fire Sushi of Duarte. Labobatory also had delicious treats and I am in love with these amazing Pineapple Cakes!
They also served their alcoholic Boba tea which was a huge hit at the party. The night continued with music from DJ Haute and the beautiful setting was the perfect place for a #hairgoals selfie!
Ken Paves, celebrity hair stylist and founder of the salon was at the gathering and shared his latest tips for stylish cuts with guests.

Check Out My Coverage of the WishMan Movie Premier at the Historic Egyptian Theater on Hollywood Blvd!

I attended the red carpet premier of the Wishman movie which is a film based on the true story of Make A Wish foundation founder Frank Shankwitz and his journey to founding the world renowned charity. It was held at the historic Egyptian theater on Hollywood Boulevard which was such a fun venue! This theater has been around since the 1920s and was one of the first major theaters in Hollywood. It is decorated in an Egyptian theme all throughout representing the era of exploration from the 20s and harkening back to the days of the silver screen.

I went with a retro look for the event and had so much fun styling my outfit and glam makeup look!

How to Host the Ultimate Summer House Party With Celebrity Chef Shirley Chung x Shiseido

I got the chance to attend an amazing launch party to celebrate the brand new WASO line of Shiseido products this past weekend at the Shiseido Malibu Beach House. You can read more about the line of super food inspired skincare products in my post here. The party was hosted by Top Chef finalist Shirley Chung who taught us how to make some amazing dishes that are perfect for entertaining and are all made from superfoods with added health benefits as well! This party was amazing and I had such a great time tasting the recipes as well as enjoying the house and mingling with other bloggers! If you are looking for ideas on the perfect start of summer soiree keep reading below to hear about some of my favorite tips and tricks from celebrity Chef Shirley Chung and ideas I picked up for hosting a great party at the event!

First Chef Shirley showed us how to create what she calls the perfect "House Party Plate" which is a delicious combo of cooked veggies drizzled with a tofu based aioli for a fresh and easy meal that guests will love. I have posted the recipe below so you guys can try out this awesome party plate!

According to Chef Shirley when preparing fresh ingredients like these it's best to have everything warming on the stove and close to being ready but you shouldn't worry about having the meal all set out on the table yet. If you prepare it too early it could get cold by the time guests arrive. I loved this tip because I never know when the right time is to serve food at my parties! 

Step 3. Prepare centerpieces using some of the ingredients from your dish

I love this idea for a summer gathering! When we walked in the table was set with beautiful bouquets of carrots and some flowers scattered across the table as well as a bowl of lemons. It was a beautiful centerpiece and got me curious about what we would be eating! This is a great tip if you are looking to change up your same old party decor and break free from the flowers and vase idea! This felt very Goop approved to me.

I loved the different tonics and summer cocktail options that were served. They had the perfect light and refreshing flavors that made this day feel like summer and weren't too overbearing when paired with the food. There were alcoholic and nonalcoholic options for guests which is another great tip to remeber when planning your party!

Chef Shirley got everyone up out of their seats by inviting us to "come garden with her" when preparing our salad plates. I loved this idea because it really broke everyone out of their groups and got us all talking! Plus we could each pick what we liked for our salads. I decided to head outside to the patio afterwards to enjoy mine with the amazing ocean view and even met some new people! 

So there you have it! This is your guide to throwing the ultimate summer house party with vegetarian friendly meals and a simple and fun recipe! This guide will hopefully allow you as the host to enjoy your party as much as your guests! Plus, don't forget to look your best for the big event with the brand new WASO skincare line by Shiseido!
