Stormrider: The Legend of Hammerhead Premieres at Saban Theater Beverly Hills

On Sunday night Stormrider: Legend of Hammerhead premiered in Beverly Hills with a star studded crowd in attendance. I covered the red carpet and watched the film. After having the chance to speak with producers and actors in the film, I got to sit down and watch it on the big screen in the ornate Saban theater. The Sci-Fi film, featuring a dystopian world where people were forced to seek refuge on an archipelago of islands brought a fresh take to the post-apocalyptic genre with water scenes, underwater special effects, and more departing from the traditional desert or cityscape settings of the genre. The film also featured a captivating plot, with many twists and turns to keep the audience guessing until the very end. I definitely recommend this film to any Sci-Fi fans who are looking for something different. Check out my red carpet coverage below to hear form the cast and crew, and see the celeb style from this glamorous event.

High Risk Launches on Rodeo Drive with Star Studded Fashion Show

This thursday an exciting new brand launched in LA's most high fashion district, Beverly Hills. High Risk, an exciting new fashion brand founded by serial entrepreneur Tommy Duncan and loved by celebrities from music, film, sports, and beyond, showcased their debut collection titled "hunting season" in the heart of Beverly Hills on Rodeo Drive across from the famous Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The show premiered during New York Fashion Week, but according to Duncan, holding the show in LA was an intentional decision to highlight the fashion industry and craftsmanship in LA as well as the brand's LA roots. The show drew celebrities and influencers from across industries and had no trouble attracting major fashion players right in the brand's hometown of LA so the statement to keep the show in LA was a major success. The atmosphere at the show included champagne from Armand de Brignac, music, and bites for guests to enjoy before and after the show as well as amazing photo ops on Rodeo Drive. The show brought real energy back to the LA fashion scene reminding of a throwback cross between Beverly Hills Cop and Pretty Woman.  I spoke to founder and designer Tommy Duncan before the show for an exclusive interview about his inspiration for the collection, the brand, and more. For Duncan, the brand is all about details, that are either there for others to notice, or simply there for the wearer to know about as a kind of couture secret.

Question: All right, so we're here at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel for this fashion show, which is kind of an interesting timing because we have New York fashion week is coming up right now, but there's not a lot going on in LA. So I kind of love how you're bringing this very like high fashion energy to LA. Tell me about that.

Tommy Duncan: It's intentional, and I think L.A. should have it. I think one of the things that's overlooked in L.A. is the... the industry of fashion here, particularly downtown. It's overshadowed by the TV and all that stuff. But when you go downtown, uh, the best craftsmen in fashion are actually downtown L.A. The best. I talk about compared to Milan, and all over the world. The best are actually downtown L.A. And I don't think it gets the credit that it deserves. But the, uh, not only is the talent there, but the fabrics are there, the intention to detail is there. And so, you know, as a LA brand, where everything we're doing is in LA, it made sense to me to do a show here in LA. About fashion, because there is not just an industry, but there's a world of fashion that is here in L.A. Yes. And we need to bring it up to the forefront. I don't understand why it's not there. And so that's what I decided we're gonna do.

Question: Now, tell me about this collection. Tell me about the inspiration behind this collection.

Tommy Duncan: So, the inspiration of the collection is one of the entrepreneur's journey. And what we create is the entrepreneur's uniform. Entrepreneur or the creator? The person who is going out to achieve whatever they're trying to achieve. Everyone has their own approach, their own talents they put to bear, their own skill sets, their superpowers. Essentially, they all hunt different. And so, this show is about hunting season. All of us hunters, the apexes. Do we hunt? And the collection is of high fashion, high design. intentional. Like the shirts, the shirt I have one now. You'll see it. It's, um, reminiscent of, like, uh, a warrior's armor. So it's cropped right here. It's very aggressive. Yeah. Um, it's, like, aggressive. Everything we have is silently aggressive. You can be wearing black. It's high risk. You will know there's something about it. So, like, we'll have wide sweatpants. We go, like, two inches wider than two wide. It's tension. Okay, okay. But then, we put weight at the bottom with a vintage gold zipper. That weight makes it so that it's, like, ocean rippling when you walk. So it's intentionally behind it. All of our pieces have distressing. Because to achieve, you go through stress. If you go through stress, your clothes are gonna have some distress. It's intentional. We cut the neck line low, so that when you are successful, or whatever case it may be, you're creative, you can show off your jewelry. Yeah. I like red, red for the bread. You see it on me all the time. I love rubies. This is my harbest watch I made. We do that, as a matter of fact, on our, when our hoodies on the sleeve, we actually cut it on purpose, to stress it, so you can see a watch poking through if you want to show it.  Even our locals, like, no logo, low logo. Really wouldn't notice it unless you know it. But when you do it, almost reminiscent of, like, a bullet hole? Like, a gunshot, I should say, like, an artistic version of it. But it's all about, you know, when you take shots, you take shots. And that's our whole message behind high risk is, first of all, have the self respect to go for your dreams. Take the risk. Take it. And then when you take it, you get there, show off your rewards. Don't be afraid to show yourself. High Risk is not for, like, a dopamine of confidence. Like, you come out, you put on some brand, you just feel like, oh, I had this brand on, no, folks are already confident. You already know who you are. We're all part of what I call the one tenth of one%. Not 1%. The one tenth of one percent. Okay. They're super special. Those are better on ourselves. And when we're successful, you don't mind being seen. We're already confident. So what we gonna do, 'cause you're already elevated, it's gonna take you up another notch. So from elevation to levitation. Superhero stuff. Not if anybody see you in it, for you to see yourself in it.

Question: Now, talk to me about this show. There's some big names gonna be attending here tonight and you talked about kind of that there is a fashion culture here in LA, especially with the Hollywood industry. So, is that, you know, part of your brand or has that inspired you?

Tommy Duncan: People have flown into town for walking in this show. And this is during NBA All Star, basketball. When people come into our show, making it about fashion. I think it speaks to the brand itself, because, you know, like anything, when you're an artist, you're creative. You put some out there, and the people have to respond. If they don't respond, then you gotta keep working on your craft. For some reason, people have responded until we put out there. And the word just gets out. And so we've been kind of like the, you know, brand in LA, and we're starting to get out. organically. And so the show is gonna be chalk full of, uh, successful people. Like, folks that are super successful. have taken risks. Like, you can't imagine. They going through the hell to get to wherever they got, and you don't see the scars, but they are there. You don't see the chip that drives them every day, but it's there. The influencers. You know how many times they do videos, get one video, right? People think it's easy to do a video. I tried it. It's hard. It's a grind to get a good video out. Mm hmm. To try to create virality. Try to create people to pay attention. It's hard. do a 1000 videos a day. The gamers. You think it's easy to beat everybody in the game? It's hard. It's hard playing basketball. Video, video game, basketball, the hardest playing? Real basketball. the highest of high level. So we have, just, I would say, a cadre, but just a plethora, of people, from different industries. But all higher risk takers and high achievements because of it. And they've been drawn to the brand. And what we provide. Hunting season. That's what we're doing. Okay. And so our pieces, runway pieces are gonna be, uh, you're gonna love the pieces. And you're gonna love this show even more. The story we're telling is gonna jump off the catwalk and off the screen.

The show drew celebrities including Raven Symone, Kyle Massey and his wife, Chanel West Coast, Hazel-E, Jessie & D'Lila Combs, Hitboy, G Herbo, Blxst, P Prime, InasX, Chloe Gibert, Coi LeRay, and more. Day One of LAFW Featuring Red Carpet Designers

"Fashion is back" -Designer Oliver Tolentino

LAFW kicked off this year with an exclusive opening gala on Thursday night. Friday night was the first official day of shows featuring red carpet designers including: Ronaldo Arnaldo, Frisk Me Good, Ria Victoria, and Oliver Tolentino.

The evening began with celebrity arrivals on the yellow carpet including stars such as model Christie Valdiserri who walked in the opening night shows.

Apl de Ap of the Black Eyed Peas, as well as some real life frontline healthcare workers who were honored for their life-saving work during the pandemic. Guests returned the the Petersen Automotive museum and enjoyed the reception before the shows held in the "Cars and Fashion" exhibit. There was a tasting booth by Stella Artois featuring a custom engraving station where guests could engrave a personalized Stella Artois beer glass.

As the sun began to set everyone headed out to the terrace to get ready for the first runway show of the night. Before heading to the catwalk guests could also grab a Seltzer tasting by Fruit Smash. The all natural fruit flavored hard seltzers were the perfect refresher to enjoy before the shows. And their playful "#SorryforSeltzering" photo station was the perfect photo op!

The show opened with a colorful collection by designer Ronaldo Arnaldo with MC2 productions. The collection featured a salute to frontline workers and addressed the last year of pandemic challenges with a line of loose fitting matching sets designed for healthcare workers. The designer even brought a few real life healthcare workers out onto the runway to close the show! It was a great way to honor their work as well as bring hope for the future.

Next up was Frisk Me Good by designer Cierra Robinson. This inspiring show featured models of all shapes and sizes wearing the stand out designs in bright colors and unique cutout silhouettes. This collection was also all about sustainability and was designed using repurposed material for the ultimate sustainable fashion statement.

Following Frisk Me Good was Ria Victoria. This collection featured a grunge beauty look and moody deconstructed designs in a dark color palette with pops of red and lavender. The draped dresses and printed suiting set the tone for the effortlessly cool style of this collection.

Finally he night closed with red carpet designer Oliver Tolentino who showcased an amazing collection of fun and elegant dresses fit for the red carpet. The gowns were made of voluminous material in classic colors like red, black, white and royal blue. Many of the designs featured ruffles, bows, and distinctly feminine details that added to the fun and flirty designs. I spoke with designer Oliver Tolentino after the show who told me about the inspiration for his collection saying, "Hollywood Glamour. Clothes that you can relate to that when you see the clothes, I can ear that. It's very sophisticated and when you see the details in the clothes you will feel that there's a lot of love in making the clothes."

The designer was so excited to present at a live show. He told me, "I've been waiting here for a long time. Its so nice to see a lot of people. Fashion is back. I'm so happy its been a long time that designers are not doing fashion shows. And this is the better way, LA fashion week."

After the final show the night wrapped on another evening of talented designs and trend setting moments.

The Ultimate Wellness Party Hosted by Completely Bare in Beverly Hills

The Completely Bare SummerHouse threw the ultimate weekend pool party high above Los Angeles on the hills of Mulholland Drive last weekend where I got to experience a full day of self care and wellness with a little partying mixed in too! The amazing day started off at the gorgeous BH mansion filled with fun photo ops perfect for showing off the priceless view from the house.

First, I got to take an exclusive yoga class focused on meditation techniques for self-empowerment and I even learned some new moves I can't wait to bring into my own practice.
Then after getting relaxed and centered the party continued with massages, brunch, and vitamin therapy provided by IV drip. I enjoyed the amazing lunch prepared by gourmet Chef Burke while lounging by the pool.

I of course brought my swimsuit and took a dip to cool off before heading back to the festivities. It truly was a taste of the good life! The day continued with tunes from the DJ and celebrity guests such as Catt Sadler started to arrive for the afternoon panel. Guests enjoyed waxing and beauty treatments compliments of Completely Bare and we even got to make homemade lip scrubs with NCLA beauty! Mine was pink of course!

The panel started at 3:30 and included Girlbosses from all areas of the entertainment industry who came to discuss cancel culture and give tips to aspiring content creators! Lily, Completely Bare’s marketing director, Amrit, an immensely successful self-made DJ and CEO, as well as podcast host, YouTuber and influencer Diana Madison and Claire of EQT music who organizes concerts and works with up and coming musicians.
The panel was so inspiring filled with great career advice from women who weren't afraid to break the mold and are now ready to help the next generation of leaders. My favorite thing about the panel was how all of these women wanted to support up and comers and each of them spoke about the importance of sharing knowledge and advice with the next generation. The overall message seemed to be that when women stick together we are unstoppable!
After hearing all the great advice and discussion about the latest marketing trends in the entertainment and influencer world I enjoyed the delicious bites and refreshments courtesy of chef Royce Burke, and H2Rose, Three Olives Vodka, Eric Philippe Champagne, and Gray Whale Gin

A British Fashion Invasion at the Grove: Charlotte Tilbury Opens Her First US "Beauty Wonderland" in LA

On Wednesday night Charlotte Tilbury and several celebrity influencer guests took over the brand new Charlotte Tilbury store in the Grove to celebrate the grand opening of the celebrity make up artist's first US store. Of course the beauty guru to the stars chose LA for her first permanent Beauty Wonderland location since she is all about Hollywood Glam makeup. She has worked with A list celebs such as Natalie Portman, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Kate Moss, Nicole Kidman and tons more!
She also just launched a brand new line of her popular Hotlips line of lipsticks and they are all named after celebrities she loves like Edward Enniful, JK Rowling, Kylie Minogue, Amal Clooney, Jennifer Aniston and more! I learned all about the new line at the event because this line is benefiting a very special cause for Charlotte Tilbury. She has pledged to donate 1 million pounds to Women for Women, a charity that helps women in underdeveloped countries like the Democratic Republic of the Congo and many more! These lipsticks truly represent a great cause!
Another one of my favorite things about this line is the packaging! Not only is it beautiful, it is sustainable and good for the environment because Charlotte specifically designed the tubes to be easily refilled so customers can keep their original packaging and purchase refill lip shades.

Charlotte brought her signature British luxury to Hollywood to create an amazing paradise for beauty lovers in the store. Every detail was carefully thought out from the beauty boudoir where guests could get their makeup done by experts to the Fountain of Youth where guests can experience the best skincare products from the brand. The London society meets LA glamour theme makes for a fun and luxurious shopping experience. I got to meet Charlotte at the exclusive pre-party where the fashion and beauty world's elite came out to celebrate the occasion!

First she stopped by the Charlotte Tilbury counter in Nordstrom to see her LA team and take pics! Then she made a quick wardrobe change and stepped onto the red carpet for the launch party wearing a sparkly black floorlength gown. Guests started to arrive and enjoyed the refreshments and hors d'oevres as well as beauty treatments in the beauty boudoir. Some of the celebrities in attendance included influencers Nicole Williams, Chloe Morello, Jade Marie, and of course yours truly!
For my red carpet look I decided to go for a British inspired style using the red, white, and blue color theme and completed my look with a hat a la Pippa Middleton. Charlotte even popped by for a pic with me and commented on my look! What do you guys think? Could I be a royal darlings?
The event was a great success and I even got the exclusive on some new product launches that the brand will be rolling out this fall! I can't wait to see more from this amazing brand!
Details on my look below!

I wore this amazing Kate Spade dress with navy blue polka dots and it even has pockets which you know I can't pass up! Then I accessorized with my Steve Madden red pumps, this bright red Kate Spade polka dot purse to match, my red and white hat, and topped it off with red lips!
I pinned my hair up in a side twist to complete the elegant outfit and used my Kollectin pearls to pull everything together!

Planet Blue Coachella Pre-Party Featuring AGolde Denim

On April 7th I headed into Beverly Hills for the Planet Blue Coachella Pre- Party. This year it was all about denim. The store was filled with fashionistas shopping the flash sale before the festival while enjoying the champagne and fun music in the store. The celebration was all about getting the perfect festival style for the desert and making it your own. It even featured a complimentary embroidery bar where with the purchase of the Agolde denim brand you could choose to have flowers or our initials embroidered on your new purchase!

Customers loved the idea and everyone enjoyed gearing up for festival season. The store was also full of other popular festival and spring styles including some adorable floral rompers and cute swimwear. The swimwear was another popular item that customers enjoyed trying on. This cherry piece was one of my favorite looks.

All in all the party was a success and everyone left more excited than ever to show off their newest festival fashions in the desert the following weekend!

Kollectin tea Party at Fifi and Romeo in Beverly Hills

Today I headed into Beverly Hills to the cutest little boutique called Fifi and Romeo for a Tea Party and girls afternoon with one of my favorite apps, Kollectin! The jewelry app was celebrating it's latest collection launch, a partnership with Yana Sirkin, shop owner and celebrity pet stylist. Bloggers, influencers and fashion industry experts showed up to check out the new styles and mingle. The theme of the day was a Mad Hatter Tea and everyone was encouraged to come in their most fashionable hats. I chose to go with a 90s theme from my all time favorite fashion film, Cluelelss. My look was inspired by Yana because she is queen of 90s fashion (which her adorable shop reflects) and she actually worked as a costume designer on the movie!! If you are into costume design stay tuned for my interview with Yana about her fascinating career in Hollywood costume and fashion design which will be up on the blog soon! My look was totally vintage inspired and I even had this matching plaid hat to complete the outfit for the tea party theme! My jacket is a retro piece from the 90s with shoulder pads and everything!

Guests enjoyed taking pictures all around the store which is basically a giant photo op. Yana welcomed us to her store saying, "This is my place that I come to just be a girl" Plus as a bonus we got to play with Yana' dogs which were dressed in the cutest little coordinated cherry outfits! Since I'm a huge fan of cherries I had to get a pic with them.

Everyone had a great time drinking champagne and tasting the amazing pastries and cupcakes and of course tea!

The new jewelry line already had people adding items to their wishlist and I love this cute pink bow necklace! I can't wait to see it up on the kollectin app. The tea party was definitely a success and everyone had a great time mingling and trying on the fun new jewelry pieces.

Check Out my article on the MTV Awards Gifting Suite in Beverly Hillsfor Hollywood Glam Magazine!

The SLS Hotel presented the MTV Awards Gifting Lounge event in Beverly Hills on Friday April 7. The gifting lounge included vendors and designers from several innovative companies from around the country. Celebrities and media attended the event before the MTV Movie and TV Awards to get in the spirit of the event and check out the interesting products. The event took place in the courtyard of the SLS hotel on a sunny day in Los Angeles and the space was filled with colorful displays from vendors.

There were several fashion and jewelry companies that came to exhibit and show off their products. Many of the designers who traveled from around the country showed off handmade products they invented and created in their homes or with friends. One designer, JA designer collections, traveled all the way from Maine to show off her necklaces made from cloth and Bamboo. According to designer and owner Jane Arey she wanted to design something that could be worn several different ways but, didn’t want to work with scarves because she wanted her product to be versatile in many seasons. The necklaces made from materials such as polyester blend and bamboo were a big hit with guest s who enjoyed trying out the different styles. They came in several colors and the designer showed off how they could be styled into knots, twists and layers.
Another innovative jewelry designer was Caravan jewelers from Sedona Arizona. The designer and owner told me that she had originally started out a s affine jeweler but during the recession wanted to expand into more affordable jewelry. That led to the creation of her line of silk jewelry. She dies the silk strips in many different vibrant colors which she said are meant to represent gem colors so customers can still have a piece of ruby red or emerald green jewelry. The strips can be combined with a variety of bronze clasps to make necklaces and bracelets and pendants can also be added to the necklaces for an added sparkle. The collection was reminiscent of the desert vibes of Sedona and perfect for a relaxing vacation look.
The vendors ranged from casual and fun jewelry to more high end as well with an exhibition from Jewels by Durani which is based out of Los Angeles. The designer explained that her and her friend created the brand with pop culture inspired pieces. The jewelry was made out of a sterling silver base with gold or rose gold platings. The popular designs included necklaces with arrow pendants and another design with Arabic writing. It was a very popular booth.
Another pop culture inspired brand was Whimzey t-shirts. The line of sassy and girly t-shirts is based in Georgia and the designer said she often gets inspiration form the girls who work in her office. She had several collection including a southern inspired line as well as a line based on movies and TV shows. One of the most popular shirts among guests was the Flawless shirt which read, “Flawless n. a person who embraces their flaws and loves themselves”

There were also several beauty products and the Nail Alliance took their inspiration from Los Angeles when they created the Baywatch Nail polish collection full of bright California colors inspired by the movie remake coming out this Spring. The 90s revival trend is definitely still going strong and has even made its way into nail polish!

Other popular vendors included the Jessica Simpson children’s line, Luseta hair and beauty products Townsley Girl Cosmetics and the popular celebrity health food company Modus whose clients include names such as Carrie Underwood and pro-athletes. The event was full all day and guests enjoyed trying new products and taking their picture on the red carpet.
