Planet Blue Coachella Pre-Party Featuring AGolde Denim
On April 7th I headed into Beverly Hills for the Planet Blue Coachella Pre- Party. This year it was all about denim. The store was filled with fashionistas shopping the flash sale before the festival while enjoying the champagne and fun music in the store. The celebration was all about getting the perfect festival style for the desert and making it your own. It even featured a complimentary embroidery bar where with the purchase of the Agolde denim brand you could choose to have flowers or our initials embroidered on your new purchase!
Customers loved the idea and everyone enjoyed gearing up for festival season. The store was also full of other popular festival and spring styles including some adorable floral rompers and cute swimwear. The swimwear was another popular item that customers enjoyed trying on. This cherry piece was one of my favorite looks.
All in all the party was a success and everyone left more excited than ever to show off their newest festival fashions in the desert the following weekend!

Kollectin tea Party at Fifi and Romeo in Beverly Hills
Today I headed into Beverly Hills to the cutest little boutique called Fifi and Romeo for a Tea Party and girls afternoon with one of my favorite apps, Kollectin! The jewelry app was celebrating it's latest collection launch, a partnership with Yana Sirkin, shop owner and celebrity pet stylist. Bloggers, influencers and fashion industry experts showed up to check out the new styles and mingle. The theme of the day was a Mad Hatter Tea and everyone was encouraged to come in their most fashionable hats. I chose to go with a 90s theme from my all time favorite fashion film, Cluelelss. My look was inspired by Yana because she is queen of 90s fashion (which her adorable shop reflects) and she actually worked as a costume designer on the movie!! If you are into costume design stay tuned for my interview with Yana about her fascinating career in Hollywood costume and fashion design which will be up on the blog soon! My look was totally vintage inspired and I even had this matching plaid hat to complete the outfit for the tea party theme! My jacket is a retro piece from the 90s with shoulder pads and everything!
Guests enjoyed taking pictures all around the store which is basically a giant photo op. Yana welcomed us to her store saying, "This is my place that I come to just be a girl" Plus as a bonus we got to play with Yana' dogs which were dressed in the cutest little coordinated cherry outfits! Since I'm a huge fan of cherries I had to get a pic with them.
Everyone had a great time drinking champagne and tasting the amazing pastries and cupcakes and of course tea!
The new jewelry line already had people adding items to their wishlist and I love this cute pink bow necklace! I can't wait to see it up on the kollectin app. The tea party was definitely a success and everyone had a great time mingling and trying on the fun new jewelry pieces.

Bumble Networking Night at the Hive on Melrose
Last night I headed down to Melrose Ave for a night of networking and fun at the Bumble Hive in LA. The Bumble hive is a popup installation where bumble users can come to network, collaborate or just get in some blogging. It is like a real life version of the Bumble Networking app and the space is super cool too! I loved all the yellow decorations and fun furniture. When I first arrived I grabbed some of the fun multicolored fortune cookies that were placed around the space. They had pink, blue, and yellow! Of course I got plenty of pink and then grabbed a coke from the bar. I had a great time exploring the rest of the space and even played the fun Bumble themed claw game they had which was so retro and cute! Pretty soon the panel of the night started. The Hive has been hosting guests all month and last night they hosted a Women in Sports themed panel with some amazing and accomplished women from across all areas of the sports industry. It was so interesting for me to learn about this industry since I am not too familiar with it but I had a great time. The panel included Lindsey Amstutz CSO of Fox Sports West, Jennifer van Dijck Chief Strategy Officer and VP of Partnerships for the LA Clippers, and Alex Curry, Sports reporter and TV personality. These women talked about what it takes to make it in the Sports world as a woman and all three of them agreed it wasn't easy but definitely possible!
Lindsay told us the story of how she got into the sports industry saying she managed her college basketball team and eventually ended up at Fox through some connections she made there. She didn't always work in sports though and took several years off to become a lawyer before realizing her true passion was sports. She said, "its never too late to follow your dream!"
She also told us about the exciting initiative she has helped launch at Fox Sports called "She is Fox Sports". The group is for women across the Fox Sports brand working all around the country and they organize events with guest speakers as well as give out awards to honor women for their hard work. This new initiative has really helped to bring together her team according to Lindsey and she is so excited to see how they can grow the idea.
Jennifer van Djick also got involved in the sports industry in college and worked hard to break in. She now gets to work on all kinds of partnerships and marketing initiatives for the LA Clippers. She talked about how she loved that her job included pieces of everything from media to business and of course athletics. She is tasked with growing the Clippers fan base and everyone on the panel agreed how important networking was because they had all run into each other many times throughout their careers.
Alex Curry also spoke about the importance of making contacts with everyone you meet. She told the story of her first on camera gig. It actually came about because she was working on set as an assistant when the producer who she'd been talking to during her time on set, asked her if she wanted to be one of the hostesses since they needed one extra person. After that she continued to get small gigs until she got an agent and manager. She said that many people told her she would never make it as a sports reporter because she didn't look the part or have the experience but she proved them all wrong.
It was a all in all a great night and I got some great tips that could apply to any career! I can't wait to see what else the Bumble BeeHive puts on!

An Athleisurley Valentine's Day at Ron Robinson in Santa Monica
This Valentine's Day I headed into the stylish Ron Robinson boutique in Santa Monica where the store was celebrating the holiday of love with tons of cute festivities. There were several brands showcasing at the event and the store was filled with Valentine themed decorations and products in every section from home decor to swimwear.
As I entered the store the first brand that I came across was. Lord Jones They made the party extra sweet with some delicious candy samples and their new celebrity esthetician approved moisturizing cream.
Next I headed over to Lotte 99 a mother daughter athliesure brand founded by Sharon and Charlotte Brown. The cutest mother daughter duo who told me all about the inspiration behind their fashion forward loungewear. The brand was especially appropriate considering the event's theme was "love yourself" and the store art featured inspiring messages of self love this year. The clothes on display were also on theme with red and white styles in silk and other soft comfy fabrics. According to the pair, the brand was founded on the idea of living the American dream which can mean being caught off guard and require athliesure wear for any occasion. The designs are all handmade here in LA and some are from up cycled materials keeping the brand ethical and appealing to the millennial consumer. The concept behind these designs was focused on working from home and how fashionable house wear can become a necessity for those working from a home office according to the designers.
I loved getting the chance to practice some #selflove in the form of retail therapy at this event! How did you show yourself some love this valentines day?

Kollectin App Launch Party and Networking Panel in DTLA
Tonight I headed into downtown LA for a networking panel with several influencers and fashion bloggers giving advice on the best strategies for getting your brand out there in 2018. The event was celebrating the launch of the kollectin app, a new fashion focused app for influencers and shoppers to connect and find their personal styles. As the "app where fashion buyers shop" it was only fitting that several of LA's most fashionable influencers filled the crowd and were excited to hear about the new app experience.
The night started off with a networking party and macaroons from Bottega Louie's which everyone enjoyed. Guests also enjoyed getting to view the fun samples from two of the brands featured on the app including Aida Kaibur jewelry and I AM ZOE women's clothing line. The clothing line featured trendy looks such as two piece suits and velvet designs which were a big hit with the crowd. The jewelry line featured interesting and unique pieces. Each guest received a piece of jewelry in their gift bag as well and I am loving my new bracelet which is super trendy!
Soon enough the panel started and we heard from Fernanda Romero Actress, Entrepreneur & Co-founder Vita Parfum, Stella Simona Creative Director/Co-owner of Amarilo & Haiti Chai, and Javvy Founder & Content Creator of Savvy Javvy. They each talked about their road to success sharing tips and tricks for getting your name and brand out there using digital marketing and social media. They attributed much of their success to social media and how it has revolutionized people's access to an instant audience. They all encouraged the audience to pursue their dreams even if that meant facing criticism form family members and each shared their own fumy stories about nosy family members telling them to "get a real job" however they didn't let that stop them. According to Fernanda, when she asked her father to help her with some business taxes he was shocked to find out she was making more than he was! It was a satisfying moment for her and something her father didn't forget. Javvy also shared that her parents have gone from telling her she was silly to bragging about her success to their friends showing that even the most skeptical can be won over eventually.
Audience members also asked questions bringing up topics like personal expression and marketing tactics. Many strategies were discussed but the main theme was to focus on creating an authentic brand first and work at remaining true to your vision every season. The influencers used everything from email marketing to Instagram stories and all talked about designing and maintaining a consistent aesthetic for their Instagram profiles. By finding their niche style they were able to target their audience and build a following of similar minded fans. They had also each found success with several different influencer marketing websites including liketoknow, Foacard, rewardstyle, and shopstyle.
In terms of managing their accounts and posting schedules they also recommended using a scheduling app such as hootsuite, mosaic, or clutch. Several of these apps also allow you to plan your story so you don't have to worry about posting live content. In terms of email marketing they recommended mailchimp and using split campaigns to find out which members of your audience prefer email over Instagram. Delivering relevant and timely content in the correct packaging is was another important digital marketing tip they pointed out. The panelists all reiterated the importnance of knowing your story, and your audience adding that you've got to know who your talking to. Integrating new creativity is important according to the influencers but keeping it simple is always key. Increasing engagement and making followers feel understood was also another strategy they had all found success with. Each woman also ended the panel saying that the most important thing to remember was to stay true to yourself and that in today's climate everyone has the chance to make their own individual path to success.
The Kollectin app founder closed the night saying that the future of the fashion industry is online and talked about her inspiration for creating the "app where fashion buyers shop" saying that her goal was to help keep up and coming designers alive in the current climate of struggling department stores. This app is all about taking risks on the latest new creatives while connecting them with influencers and I can't wait to see what new designs they have in store!

LAFW Fall 2017
Tonight I headed over to LAFW at the Alexandria hotel in downtown LA to check out their lineup of designers this season and get a chance to enjoy the beautiful art installation as well. First, I got my hair done by the L'Oreal pro booth and got to show off this cool braid with my look.
I also got some samples from the new Living proof line of hair products which I am super excited to try! Next, I touched up my nails and got some free samples from the Trendz Colors booth.
I am looking forward to testing their Nail growth serum which I am in desperate need of! After checking out the colorful art it was time to start the show. The first designer Elsohi started their show off with a beautiful video showing grape vines which served as the backdrop for the collection. The show featured delicate but strong silhouettes in muted colors for fall and a decidedly feminine theme with ruffles and intricate details. The show was definitely a crowd pleaser and the space inspired silhouettes were right on trend. The feontvrow was filled with trend setters as guests came dressed for the artistic theme of the night. Two of the biggest trends I noticed were reds and mirror accents. Check out these stylish looks!
The next designer was MaryMe and Jimmy Paul a brand based in Amsterdam focused on innovative designs created by partners Marie Burlot and Jimmy Rinsum. The collection was focused on pushing the boundaries of design to represent pop culture using sculptural designs. The collection, looking more like art than clothing in some cases certainly achieved it's goal and had the whole audience mesmerized with the fantastical looks. The clear plastic showed off the inner designs and structures of the clothing while many looks had pieces dragging on the floor. The collection was a representation of current pop culture trends and used popular colors from social media trends including mermaid inspired blues and turquoises as well as unicorn style pinks and whites. I definitely enjoyed this fascinating collection.
I also had a great photo session with Rico Mejia an amazing photographer who also covers the event. He captured my outfit perfectly and I love how these photos came out! Check him out if you are interested in fashion photography @ricomejiaphoto
