Clare Dunn Performs at the Hollywood Christmas Parade

This year country singer Clare Dunn headlined the Hollywood Christmas parade on the walk of fame on Sunday November 25th. She performed several Christmas classics wearing a showstopping winter themed look with over the knee boots and a long red velvet jacket. She also gave the audience a special treat and premiered her new single "Tuxedo" for everyone. The country star gave a high energy performance with the lights of the TCL Chinese Theater in the background and giant floating Christmas decorations all around. Other musical performances included American Idol star Kimberly Caldwell who also performed some beautiful Christmas classics.

Afterwards she rode on a float in the parade with her family! Check out my coverage of the parade in Hollywood Glam magazine and watch my exclusive interview with none other than Santa Claus below!

For the red carpet I went with a Holiday themed look with some Hollywood flare and wore this cute red velvet dress (matching Clare Dunn in the red velvet!) and these Kollectin pearls. I love this dress because it is warm but still comfy and has kind of a gypsy vibe to it with the flared sleeves which ended up being perfect for this event!

Have you been naughty or nice this year?!

How to Look Your Most Stylish Heading Home this Holiday Season

It feels like this holiday season came out of nowhere this year! Now it's almost time to pack up and head home for Thanksgiving dinner. If you're scrambling to find something to wear and are stressing about looking your best when heading home and running into all your old friends and relatives don't worry! Read on for some great tips on what to wear to look your best!

Tip No.1 Dress to Flatter Your Body Type

If you are looking to impress your judgey aunt or are anticipating running into an ex this holiday season this is not the time to experiment with trendy new styles you've never worn before. Go for a look that you know flatters your body type. Even if you're feeling bold you can still play with prints or find some stand out accessories to take your outfit to the next level. A few key things to remember are: stay away from horizontal stripes because vertical stripes are more slimming, darker colors tend to be more flattering, belts are perfect for accentuating your waistline, and color blocking can be your friend if you pick the right pieces. Try this guide to color blocking that I found here for more inspo!

Tip No.2 Add Some Sparkle

Speaking of accessories, the holiday season is all about glitter and this is the perfect time of year to show off your love for sparkles! Pull out that sequin piece from your closet or treat yourself to some glittering baubles. Statement jewelry is great for showing off your personality and it can also serve as the perfect conversation starter at your mom's annual holiday party. My favorite place to find fabulous jewelry for the holidays is Kollectin. Check out their endless selection of fashionable jewelry using my discount code CERISESDUM and treat yourself! Plus you might find the perfect thing for a few other people on your list this year!

Tip No.3 Don't Wear All Black

Black is a classic winter color and everyone loves throwing on a little black dress but this year you can look even more festive if you incorporate some color into your outfit. Try a plum, deep red, maroon, navy blue, or even a dark pink this year! Wearing all black can get boring all winter long and brightening up your outfit will get you in the holiday spirit!

Tip No.4 Stay Away from Flowy Styles

Again, if you're dressing to impress this holiday season hiding under flowy styles won't help you look any better. Contrary to what you might think choosing clothes that are fitted to your body will actually make you look better. Flowy styles can have a volumizing effect and might do the opposite of what you're hoping when trying to look trim and polished this season. Instead of a drapey knit sweater pick a fitted cashmere style and you'll be turning heads all night long.

Tip No.5 Don't Forget Your Beauty Routine

It's your time to shine this time of year and holiday make-up can be super fun to wear! You can use sparkles almost everywhere to stand out from your eye make up to your hair. My favorite way to get the full holiday glam effect is to wear sparkly body spray or lotion that will catch the light making you twinkle like a snowflake.

Laura Marano, Jake Miller and Other Celebs Attend ChildHelp's Hollywood Heroes Night in Beverly Hills

Kicking off the holiday season in style, celebs and other guests attended the ChildHelp Hollywood Heroes charity night at the Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills this past Tuesday night. The event featured performances from Laura Marano who performed her brand new song "Me" and Jake Miller who also shared new music. The event was held at the Riveria 31 lounge and it was the perfect setting for the intimate performances. Thoughtfully giftbaskets also sponsored the event and several celebs got into the Thoughtfully spirit including Laura Marano Chelsea Kane and more. The giftbags were so cute and specially curated making them the perfect option for gifts this holiday season.Everyone came dressed up in their winter styles as well and I got the exclusive fashion coverage from the red carpet. Everyone was excited to come out and support a good cause so I spoke to celebs about charity, the holidays and of course what they were wearing!

Ava Cantrell of Young Sheldon made a surprise appearance on the red carpet that evening wearing a purple sequin cocktail dress. She said of ChildHelp and her look, "Its such a great cause, amazing! I don't know the designer I feel terrible but I it's super sparkly and fun!" She also wore matching purple eye make up told me that she had planned the look to match. We talked about her upcoming projects and awards season being right around the corner as well. She told me. "I'm so excited for that I love that!"

Chelsea Kane was another star who made a fashion statement at the event that night dressed in head to toe animal print. We talked about all things fashion and the charity as well.

She said, "I'm so happy to be here. It's an amazing organization and I had the opportunity to visit their village earlier in the year and I'm hosting their event on December 2nd their Christmas pageant and I think it's an amazing cause to support."

Speaking of Christmas the star also shared some exciting news about her new Christmas movie coming out this season called "Christmas By the Book".

She said, "While you're at home and getting ready for the holiday season you can watch it!"

The former Disney star also talked about some other exciting upcoming projects saying, "I've been keeping busy I just found out on Friday about something I'll be shooting next week that I don't think I'm allowed to announce yet so stay tuned! I also have a show on Adult Swim and the second season is about to premier it's called Hot Streets."

She jokingly told me about her eye catching red carpet style saying, "It's subtle right?? I'm wearing Zara, the earrings are mine and the jewelry is mine."

I also spoke to Hallmark star Christina Ochoa who told me about her glittery look by Free People. She was so excited to support the event and is passionate about spreading awareness for all kinds of social issues. She told me about ChildHelp which she has worked with for many years saying, "It's the oldest and largest organization They've been working for 60 years now it's not only preventing child abuse at the root of it not only helping prevent that but also solving the problem and helping grant the children who have been victims of that with foster and childcare services and platforms where they feel safe and places where they are encouraged to flourish."

She also talked about her work on the ABC hit A Million little things saying, "Right now I'm on a show called A Million little things and I think that has been doing as much of a good job as possible of also spreading awareness of other social issues like depression, suicide, breast cancer. I think that when you have a platform you have to try and use it to spread messages of love and support towards those causes."

Reality star Tom Schwartz talked to me about his success after Vanderpump Rules, his relationship and, finally owning his own restaurant as well as his look for the night. He told me about his statement glasses saying, "If you look right behind you we're across from the Beverly Center there's this cool little place in there called C and I got these at C."

He gushed about his shirt telling me, "This is from Robert Barraket shout out to him. I got to collaborate with him up in Montreal and they make these amazing T-shirts." He showed off the  material of the shirt saying, "See, This is so soft!"

He talked about the domestic bliss of being married to his wife Kate Maloney saying, "I mean two years into marriage and it's getting harder and harder for me to just put on shoes. Yeah, I'm a scrub by nature but I didn't want to schlep at this event."

Laura Marano and Jake Miller also made appearances on the red carpet before their shows.

I caught up with Laura who I interviewed last at the Global Green Pre-Oscars gala and we talked about her new movie that she is producing herself. She announced it's finally coming out in summer 2019 and has been in the works since last year! She told me about her glam look for the show which was perfect for the Hollywood Heroes theme saying, "I'm wearing Rachel Zoe who is actually one of the sponsors of the event and I'm wearing YSL jewelry." Laura sang her brand new song "Me" live for the first time later on for us that night and gave an amazing performance.

Jake Miller talked to me about his new music and the event saying, "I'm very excited to perform tonight, anytime I get to give back to the community is a lot of fun for me and really the whole reason I'm in music so I'm very excited to be here."

He shared some more details about the new single he planned to perform for us saying, "It's called "Wait for You" and it's very upbeat I made the beat I wrote the lyrics and I did it all by myself and it's my first single with Sony so I'm very excited about it."

He was wearing a leather jacket and AllSaints clothing for the performance but when talking about his look he told me, "I'm not very good with fashion actually."

Halloween Masquerade Ball at the Sixty in Beverly Hills

This year I got to celebrate Halloween in style at the Halloween masquerade ball on the rooftoop of the charming Sicty Hotel in Beverly Hills. The event was hsoted by MTS development and everyone came dressed in their best masks and Halloween attire. The venue was perfect with 360 views of LA and lounge seating for relaxing and enjoying the cityscape.

There was a best dressed contest and plenty of photo ops. Bloggers and creatives from all over LA turned out to celebrate the haunted holiday in their best gowns and creative masks. The music was great and the DJ got everyone in a party mood with Halloween classics like Thriller. Soon the crowd was dancing the night away and the best part was everyone was anonymous so people were trying out all kinds of dance moves. The stylish crowd was mingling and everyone seemed to have a great time.

I wore a vintage midnight blue floor length dress with a silver mask and silver accessories. I love this dress because it has a tie back so there is no sticky zipper to worry about and it always fits like a glove regardless of if I have my summer body or my winter coat on! ;) I loved my hair and makeup look as well courtesy of my BFF Chapman's beauty! This girl is so talented! The whole night was so fun and the masquerade added an extra element of mystery putting me in the Halloween mood! Check out my look below!

Closing Night of LAFW at the Petersen Automotive Museum

This year LAFW held their Spring/Summer 2019 showcase at the Petersen Automotive museum. I attended closing night to see their all star lineup of designers including Irina Malchuk, Irish Latina, Nor, and Bohemian Society. The runway was on the second floor of the msueum and models walked down the catwalk with the amazing vintage cars and specialty models from brands like Porsche, Ford, and Infiniti in the background. I headed to the lounge where there were so many high fashion photo ops and fun displays.

They even had a makeup station where guests could do touch ups to look runway ready and I loved using my new Shiseido lipstick in my favorite fuschia shade that matched my dress perfectly for the night!
I loved this garden inspired art by XO Bloom.

I also got to attend with my friend the owner of Rsolute Boutique who came all the way to LA from Alaska! It was so much fun showing her fashion week! The star studded guest list for LA fashion week included Elie Madi who recieved the Moss Adams design award and has designed for A-list celebrities such as JLo, Gwen Stefani and Katy Perry. Former NBA player Kibwe Khari and an America’s Next Top model contestant were also in the front row right next to yours truly!

The first show of the night, Irinia Malchuk kicked things off with a glittery 70s inspired collection. The runway really had a shine to it with these beautiful gowns and fun flirty styles. This pair of lace boots was a crowd favorite and totally unique.

Next, Irish Latina, an eco-friendly brand made of recycled t-shirts kicked things up with an exotic dance performance right on the runway. The models followed strutting down the catwalk in the flouncy and brightly colored designs. Each design had a fun style on the back such as bows or lace up corsets. The collection had a hint of retro style to it as well. I loved all the bright colors and feminine details from this collection.

Then we got a special treat from Nor, a brand from Norway that brought beautiful simple Nordic designs to the runway. My favorite was this simple yet elegant blue dress. The fabric was draped in the middle to form a snowflake pattern and the dress reminded me of something from the Frozen movie!

Finally the show closed with a rockin performance from Bohemian Lifestyle, a fun and loud brand with an artistic flair. The show was also designed to be a story in itself and each model played a character. There were so many interesting things to watch including a model who even skateboarded down the runway! There were also models who took pictures of the audience. The surrealist quality of the show made an artistic statement about the current state of the fashion industry. The reversal of roles from the audience taking pictures to now having the models take pictures of the audience was a reminder about our social media obsessed society. The audience loved it and everyone participated posing and photo bombing the pictures. There was also a set of models coming down the runway posing and shooting like in a photo session. The models looked like they could be acting out the life of a blogger or influencer and made an important statement about the changing fashion marketing trends today. The model and photographer looked like they were almost in their own world and moved seamlessly down the runway changing angels and poses as they walked. There were also several other talented models on the runway including a set of dancers who gave a beautiful performance in matching turquoise dresses that flowed with the dance.

All in all it was a great show and a fun night with friends and amazing designs!

Jordyn Woods Gets Her MakeUp Done by Celebrity Artist Patrick Ta

Today I headed into Hollywood for an exclusive event at Quixote Studios put on by Shiseido makeup featuring Jordyn Woods and Patrick Ta. Plus many more celebs showed up for the fun later in the evening. Annalynne McCord, Lauren Bushnell and more stepped out on the red carpet and Jordyn Woods gave me an exclusive interview where she spilled about her 21st birthday and more!

Jordyn and Patrick stepped out on stage and talked to the crowd like we were all at a slumber party together. They were both so excited to try out the new products from Shiseido. Jordyn had no idea what Patrick was going to do for her so the final makeup look was a surprise. Halfway through Patrick asked her if she was nervous about the final look and she said, "Just a little bit!" Patrick told the audience his inspiration for today's look saying that he was originally inspired by the makeup he saw girls wearing on his recent trip to Tokyo.
He said, "It was all about shapes and that's what I'm doing today. In Tokyo everything is about being cutesy."
Patrick pulled out the Shiseido sparkling blush next and talked about how the girls in Tokyo used makeup to look cute rather than to appear sexier. He told us that blush was his favorite thing to apply to create a cutesy look because there was no way blush could look sexy.
Jordyn jumped in saying, "Don't get it twisted. Blush can be sexy, anything can be sexy if you want it to be." Everyone laughed.
Patrick continued with the look and gave the audience tips for looking red carpet ready while he worked.
He shared his top recommendations for a show stopping look saying, "Don't put highlighter on the smile lines or the middle of the forehead because it looks bad in photographs." And looking at Jordyn's final look he definitely knew what he was doing. I loved this tip because as a blogger I'm always taking pictures and you never know what kind of lighting you're going to be dealing with.
On the topic of highlighter he also said, "There's a fine line between dewy and oily." And less is definitely more when it comes to highlighter.
Jordyn added in her thoughts on experimenting with makeup while Patrick worked on her surprise look. She said, "I think makeup is the one thing that you can really have fun with. You can be wearing basic all black but if your makeup is fun nobody is paying attention to your outfit."
Finally it was time for the big reveal and Jordyn ended up loving the look!
She told me, "I actually really like it. Normally when I get my make up done I like to watch the process but this time I just let him do his thing. This is the first time he ever did my makeup. It's definitley there but it doesn't feel to heavy either. It actually all feels so light that I forgot that I look like this and every time I look in the mirror I'm like, Oh Okay."
I also talked with Jordyn after the big reveal to get the scoop on her favorite makeup looks and her recent birthday celebration. After the big reveal Shiseido presented Jordyn with a cake since she had just turned 21 a few days before and everyone sang happy birthday to help celebrate!
She told me that one of her favorite things to do was to match her makeup look to her outfit. She excitedly told me about one of her recent looks saying, "I like things to go well together. So normally I only get my makeup done if I have an event to go to but I like everything just to look cohesive so like the other night for my birthday look I was wearing this kind of holographic like red dress thing so I figured a gold eye would look good with it since there were gold accents in the dress."
After blowing out her candles Jordyn excitedly shared what it felt like finally being 21 with me. She told me a little about her party saying that she hadn't wanted to do the typical night in the club and had instead opted for a quieter celebration with her close friends and family. She said, "Yeah its crazy I feel like it happened so fast. I feel like after 18 21 is the next big birthday and I can't believe it's finally here! I'm 21 I'm legal it's actually happening and I feel like it's the next chapter for life"
The reality star is certainly headed for big things but growing up hasn't meant losing any closeness with her family. Jordyn took several selfies with her mom who accompanied her to the event looking so proud of her daughter all day.
As the event wrapped up everyone got gift bags filled with some fun Shiseido make up goodies that I can't wait to try out. Keep an eye out for my future posts to find out what was in it!

Vintage Shopping on Melrose

Today I headed into Melrose to check out the vintage stores for a fall wardrobe refresh. I had so much fun looking through the stores and found some great pieces. There is something for everyone on Melrose from designer vintage pieces to more funky retro styles. I also loved showing off my fall outfit and found this cute hippy car to take pictures next to! Check out all the fun below.
