The GuardaHeart Foundation Launches DiabetesPredict in Style At Newport Beach Gala

The GuardaHeart Foundation presented a sizzling summer event in Newport Beach on Saturday June 19th to celebrate the launch of their DiabetesPredict test. The event was held at a Newport Beach mansion with food, live music, and more. Both the Chariman and the Founder of GuardaHeart Dr. Douglas Harrington and Estrella Harrington attended the event and spoke to the crowd.

Notable guests such as Dusty Lang of Rock Band Six Gun Sal, actor Tyrone DuBose, Simon Lunche music artist, and more stepped onto the red carpet to come out and support the event.

The attendees enjoyed a beautiful buffet with delicious appetizers and a blue themed drink to match the GuardaHeart brand.

The dessert was a delicious sugar free ice cream provided by BochaSweet an all natural sweetner company based in Orange County. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the sunset views over the harbor.

The GuardaHeart foundation members even put on a live music performance for the guests. We also got to hear from the doctors and founders about the progress the DiabetesPredict test has made. It was a great night and everyone enjoyed getting back out to celebrate together.

CdM Travel: A Weekend in San Diego

This weekend I decided to take a trip down to San Diego and explore a little more of Southern California. I love hanging out in LA but SD is a whole other world just waiting to be discovered only a few hours south! Read my guide below to discover all the best blogger spots to take amazing photos and enjoy a relaxing weekend by the beach!

Day One

Experience the beach and get some amazing views with the hiking trails at Torrey Pines
I loved the amazing hiking in Torrey Pines state park located in La Jolla. The sandstone cliffs and sweeping ocean views were definitely worth the uphill hike. I spent a couple hours exploring the different trails and taking in the wildflower meadows and stunning cliffside pathways. Then I headed down to the beach near the Razorpoint trail at the top of the hill. The beach area is so cool with giant sandstone cliffs and little outcroppings in the ocean that are great for pictures! There are trails for every level whether you are a beginner hiker or looking for a more challenging route. And the best part is you can cool off by the ocean at the end of the hike if you start getting hot! I would definitely recommend this spot for nature lovers and anyone wanting to get some great ocean views of San Diego.

Where to Eat:

Galaxy Taco located only a few minutes away from the hiking trails in the charming La Jolla Village\
After spending the morning hiking I had definitley worked up an appetite and headed over to the famous Galaxy Taco shop in La Jolla. It's just a few blocks from the beach and is situated on the cutest little street with tons of boutiques and other beachside shops. I loved discovering this little neighborhood and Galaxy Taco is famous for delicious gourmet Mexican food in San Diego. I ordered the steak taco with a side of beans and rice which came with a \delicious guacamole salsa. It was the perfect filling and healthy meal for a late lunch. I also loved the colorful atmosphere of the restaurant which offers indoor and outdoor seating.

Where to Shop:Waterfront shopping at Seaport village
If you are looking for the perfect place to find some souvenirs or some coastal inspired fashion than the shopping at Seaport Village is the perfect place! The waterfront shopping has tons of cute shops and fun California lifestyle brands. Relax and end your day with these great lewks.

Day Two

Get in touch with your inner child at Belmont Beach Amusement Park
Experience the party life at Pacific Beach and take a walk along the strand to soak up the San Diego sunshine. For my second day in San Diego I decided to check out the famous Pacific Beach neighborhood and started my day at the historic Belmont Beach Amusement park. The adorable seaside park has everything you's want from a boardwalk amusement park and tons of colorful photo ops! My favorite ride is the old fashioned wooden rollercoaster called the Giant Dipper which has been there since 1925. This historic ride is so fun with great views of the ocean as you fly down the track. This whole park is full of retro vibes. After enjoying the park I headed down to the strand and walked along the beach checking out all the cool beachfront houses!

Where to Eat:

Head into North Park for the trendy and blogger friendly Holy Matcha Cafe
The Holy Matcha cafe is a very popular blogger spot because of it's fun millennial pink decor and palm tree wallpaper. The cafe serves every type of Matcha drink as well as some delicious vegan pastries. It is super fun inside and I loved just hanging out here taking advantage of all the great photo ops!

Nightlife:

I ended my day at the Soda Bar only a few blocks away from Holy Matcha to see the up and coming indie/rock band Wargirl perform at this San Diego live music venue. You can read more about the band and the show in my interview with them here.

I hope you guys enjoyed my guide to the trendiest spots in San Diego! Share if you have been to any of these spots in the comments below!

Blogger Fun: Flower Power Style at the Carlsbad Flower Fields

This past weekend I decided to celebrate spring with a trip to the Carlsbad flower fields. I'm doing all the OC blogger things this season and this one was definitely on my bucket list. I got all glammed up for a fun photo shoot amongst the blooms at these beautiful fields of color right here in California. When I first started seeing pictures of bloggers at the flower fields I didn't even realize they were here in California and assumed they were somewhere else! But this amazing spot is actually right on the coast and at certain places on the farm you can even see ocean views. I loved getting to explore this fun attraction and picked out two outfits that represent spring style this season. Check out the photos below from this fun photo shoot to get inspired on your spring style! I have linked some items below for you guys as well! Plus my make up look for this day was all about natural and fresh spring beauty! I am loving these beach waves in my hair adding an effortless chic style to my look.

Megan Trainor gives career advice and spills about her success in Hollywood at the ASCAP Music Expo

I got to see Megan Trainor speak at the ASCAP music expo on Friday and she dropped some serious knowledge on the crowd of music industry hopefuls plus talked about her inspiration for her latest single!

She talked about her first hit song "All about that Bass" citing it as the song that changed her life and brought her from a writer behind the scenes to an artist front and center.

She said, "I had the song, you might have yours your number one smash right now in your pocket and you have no idea. That's the scariest part about this job. But also the most rewarding...I remember bass I wrote that being like, no one is ever going to sing this but, screw it let;'s write it anyways...I remember thinking I didn't look the part you know I would never be a Rihanna or a Britney Spears or whatever. So I said I'm gonna just be the cool songwriter the superhero of the world lay low for a minute and then I'll be a star later. But the song will take you, if you have the song it will take you to all your dreams."
She told the audience, "If you're a songwriter and your song takes off my best advice is to just follow it."

Summer is Officially Here and it Looks A Lot Like Baywatch: Exclusive Collection Launch at Ron Robinson in Santa Monica

Today Baywatch, the summer's hottest beach movie, hits theaters and the remake of the 90s phenomenon will have fans dreaming of beautiful California beach days with hot lifeguards Zach Efron and Dwayne the rock Johnson in sexy muscle tees and stylish throwback looks. I got the ultimate taste of Baywatch fashion on Thursday when I attended the exclusive launch the official Baywatch collection at Ron Robinson in Santa Monica.

The collection was created in partnership with Paramount Pictures under a licensing deal for the Baywatch movie and at the same time that we were celebrating the US launch, stars from the film including Efron and The Rock were in Australia promoting the movie overseas. "We are thrilled to have this great design collaboration celebrating the Baywatch movie release,” said LeeAnne Stables, President, Worldwide Marketing Partnerships & Licensing at Paramount Pictures. “The film spotlights the spirit of the beach lifestyle in a fresh and contemporary way – perfectly captured by Ron Robinson and Sugar.” The partnership between Sugar and Paramount resulted in a great personalized collection for fans with many options for customers to pick styles they liked and items that they could enjoy all summer long.
At the event I spoke with reps from Sugar t-shirts the brand behind the fun retro collection as well as a representative from Paramount Pictures Australia who told me that the swimsuit styles in the fun retro collection were inspired by the costumes in the movie. As I wandered around the store checking out all the fun photo ops with the Baywatch decorations I could definitely see the resemblance.
This collection was the first to include menswear for Sugar tees and they did a great job translating their signature sassy style into the menswear collection with funny sayings and graphic designs that will no doubt start a trend for the summer.
My personal favorite of the womenswear looks was this cute bodysuit inspired by the signature red Baywatch swimsuit which became an icon of SoCal beach styles in the 90s.
Guests had a great time in the store checking out all the beach themed products to go with the collection and summer vibes were everywhere as many showed up wearing pieces from the collection.

Check out my article for E! News about the revival of the Baywatch movie here and don't forget to check out the collection online so you can show up to the new movie in theaters now in style!

Loved my cute little makeup bag form the event it was perfect for a beach day!
