Palomino Country Festival in Pasadena: Kacey Musgraves, Willie Nelson, Old Crow Medicine Show and more!

Last Saturday the brand new Palomino Country festival kicked off at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Headliners Kacey Musgraves and Willie Nelson drew a crowd young and old to the picturesque setting with food trucks, two stages, and outdoor seating lining the park. Festival guests had tons of photo ops thanks to vendors like Arrowhead water, Monster energy, and more. There was also a booth for the brand new Amazon Prime series "The Terminal List" where guests could play games and enter to win exclusive prizes and fan experiences.

Palomino fest also comes right as Stagecoach 2023 tickets go on sale but while they are both country music festivals the two events are very different. Many Stagecoach fans were at the festival this weekend however they were mostly fans of the Palomino stage which features country and folk artists at Stagecoach. Palomino fest guests were drawn to the relaxed environment and the authentic country artist lineup that did not include the pop country artists who headline at Stagecoach.

One of the bands many guests were excited to see was the Old Crow Medicine Show who took the Lefty Stage around 7pm with a high energy performance that included a brand new song from their latest album as well as fan favorites. The crowd enjoyed dancing and stepping to the music while the band jumped around on stage. I spoke to the lead singer of the band Ketch Secor backstage before the show where he gave me an in depth look at the making of their latest album. Check out my interview here!

The event had a large turnout and continued to get crowded as the night went on. By the time Willie Nelson took the stage the park was filled to the edges with guests who had come out to see the legend.

Kacey Musgraves show combined her fun and colorful energy with the low key vibes of the festival. She sang songs from her latest album, Star-Crossed as well as some fan favorites from Golden Hour. Her set included a laser light show that lit up the park with rainbow lights while she sang her hit song "Rainbow".

The festival was definitely a success as country fans from Pasadena and beyond came out to enjoy a summer concert and many were already gearing up for Stagecoach 2023!

All the Red Carpet Style at the 2022 MTV Movie and TV Awards

The MTV Movie and TV Awards made a splash this weekend with celebs like Vanessa Hudgens, JLo, Sydney Sweeny and more stepping out on the red carpet. The "biggest night to be a fan" has been a pop culture staple but recently MTV added the Unscripted Awards event. Airing right after the Movie and TV awards the 2nd annual Unscripted show celebrated the biggest names in reality TV.  I spoke to the stars on the red carpet about the trends they will be wearing this summer and more!

The Movie and TV Awards brought some major celebrities to Barker Hanger in Santa Monica for the event including Glen Powell and Jay Ellis from Top Gun Maverick, Sydney Sweeney of Euphoria, Vanessa Hudgens who hosted the show, Swae Lee who gave a special performance during the awards, Awkwafina, Jack Black, Jenna Ortega, Lana Condor, Taylor John Smith, Olivia Rodrigo and of course Jennifer Lopez.

One of the major trends from the red carpet was color. Lana Condor showed up in this all pink suit looking on point. Vanessa Hudgens wore a royal blue dress, Sophia Di Martino wore an all red bedazzled suit, Awkwafina showed up in neon yellow, Taylor John Smith wore his favorite color light blue, Cazzie David wore neon green. I spoke to Taylor John Smith about his look as well as his new movie "Where the Crawdads Sing" which is set to come out in July. Check out my interview with him in the video below!

Another trend from this red carpet was cutouts. JLo, Chrisnell Stausse, Teresa Giudice, Sher Saurez Tefi Pessoa and more all showed off a little skin for summer in cutout looks. Check out my interview with Sher Suarez below as she describes her Bronx and Banco red carpet look.

One of my favorite trends from this event was definitely the sparkles. Paris Hilton, Kathy Hilton, Kim Lee, Sydney Sweeney, Sophia Di Martino, Heather and Tarek El Moussa, and Chanel West Coast all opted for bedazzles looks on the red carpet. Check out my interview with Kim Lee of Bling Empire below for details on her sparkly look.

As for what trends celebs are going to be sporting this summer, it's all about color and comfort. I spoke to Symone, the star of RuPaul's drag race who said, "I used to stay away from pink because I was like ooh that'ss not me. But it makes me feel so bubbly inside it just stirs up some things I don't know."

I also spoke to Mandii B. podcast host extraordinaire who told me, "I love that crochet is coming back. So I like the crochet tops, shorts and skorts are back."

Tayshia Adams who hosted the Unscripted awards shared her top picks saying, "I recently bought my first pair of oversized jeans and now I can’t stop wearing them I’ve never worn those before. Also black slides. I never used to be a fan I’m a heels girl."

Check out my full interview with the Bachelor Nation star here

And Tefi Possoa, Tik Tok celeb and InStyle correspondent gave an extra credit answer telling us what trend we need to throw out of our closets this summer. She said, " I feel like I'm sick of you making me buy cargo pans. I'm buying them because I'm a trendy little girl but I don't wanna do it anymore. Anything that I have to go into Old Navy for I don't want it. If I see another double polo I'm lighting everything on fire like in waiting to exhale when she throws the match I'm gonna do that to every double polo in the world."

Heather El Moussa said she was all about pops of color this summer, "I love color. Lime green pops of color I mean my whole new wardrobe is pops of color."

Cheyenne Valentino star of the new Drag competition show Queen of the Universe said, "I am really getting into the big tulle skirts now I love them. I used to think people were crazy walking around in with all the tulle skirts. So I got me a few tulles made."

What was your favorite look of the night? Let me know in the comments below!

Chanel West Coast Announces Pregnancy and Shares Her Maternity Style on the MTV Unscripted Awards Red Carpet

Los Angeles basedsinger and television personality Chanel West Coast announced some big news on the red carpet at the MTV Unscripted Awards which aired Sunday night on MTV. The singer spoke about this exciting time for her family. The “Ridiculousness” Co-host shared her excitement as well as her nerves for the upcoming changes her first baby will bring saying it was definitely “scary” but overall happy news. She appeared with her boyfriend Dom Fenison on the red carpet and the couple looked cuter than ever as they talked about their plans for the baby.

The musician mentioned her struggles with morning sickness in the first trimester and how it had made keeping the news under wraps difficult. But now she is ready to take things public and is hoping for a smooth summer while she prepares to welcome her child into the world. The singer is well known for her bold sense of style and she continued the tradition with her red carpet look for the event. She described her outfit saying, “Pink is more my vibe, I’m wearing a pink and green Dolce and Gabbana dress, Louboutin shoes, and a Louboutin clutch.” One of the most immediate changes the baby will bring is to her wardrobe. We asked the star what her maternity style will be and she excitedly shared her plans saying, “I’m gonna be very Rihanna vibes as soon as the belly is popping a little more I’m gonna show it off more because right now it’s still in that stage where it’s like people might think I’m a little overweight at the moment. But as soon as it’s popping out more I’m just gonna start showing it off more.” She added, “I’m just looking for whatever I can wear right now. I haven’t been paying as much attention to the trends as usual as I’ve been trying to pay attention to what actually is going to fit me and still be cute.”

The artist is looking forward to being a mom and is already feeling inspired by her child. She released a brand new music video on June 2nd and already has additional projects in the works. Fans are looking forward to hearing her new songs and the singer has hinted that there may be some surprises in her music style as well. It will be a transformative summer for the artist and a joyous time for her growing family.

Before heading inside the MTV star shared what she was most looking forward to about the awards show saying, “Tonight I’m just looking forward to seeing what crazy thing happens like the MTV awards is known for something crazy happening and I think that we don’t ever know what’s gonna happen so I can’t wait to see what crazy shenanigans happen.” The 2nd annual MTV Unscripted Awards aired on Sunday June 5th with special guests Paris Hilton and Bethany Frenkel in addition to cast members from some of the biggest shows in Reality TV this year.

Exclusive Interview: Fashion Icon Tayshia Adams Hosts MTV Unscripted Awards

Tayshia Adams has had a whirlwind past few years going from a graduate of Concordia University in Irvine to fan-favorite contestant on the Bachelor and now to major media personality and host for the 2nd annual MTV Unscripted Awards. The fashion icon and social media star has built a name for herself by breaking barriers in the reality TV genre as the first bi-racial host of the Bachelorette. But as a young girl growing up in Newport Beach she never dreamed her career would take her all the way to Hollywood. When we spoke to Adams on the red carpet before her big night she said, “I would’ve probably never predicted it but at the same time I feel like this is exactly where I need to be.”

As for what’s next Adams is enjoying her new home in New York City for now and plans to run the NYC marathon again after successfully completing the 2021 race while raising money for the World Vision charity last November. Despite being hospitalized for a kidney infection after last year’s event she is not giving up and planning to compete again in 2022. She said, “I did run my first marathon last year and I’m definitely planning on running the New York marathon this year.”

Adams told us about her new home in NYC and how she has evolved since leaving her home in sunny Southern California. She said, “First of all now that I live in New York my fashion sense has completely changed first of all I’m wearing mostly black if that doesn’t tell you that I’m a New York girl I don’t know what would. It’s really brought out my edge. I feel like orange county is way more chill and laid back and like colorful.”

For Adams, being a host isn’t just about the fun and excitement. She takes the role very seriously and worked to mentor Bachelorette Katie while co-hosting season 17 last year. As the first bi-racial Bachelorette host she also works to be a role model for women like herself.

She shared how she incorporates both of her cultures into her style saying, “I feel like I wear what represents me and I’ll try anything. I love color and with that Mexican culture has a lot of vibrance and that’s always fun to bring into the mix.”

While this was only the second year for the Unscripted Awards, there was still plenty of drama and excitement for fans and Adams had her work cut out for her. The Bachelor Nation sensation is enjoying her new home in NYC but was still happy to be back in her home state for the big night. When it comes to the future there is no doubt her busy career will bring her back to California but for now, she is looking forward to enjoying the summer season. She shared what she’s most looking forward to wearing in the warm weather saying, “I recently bought my first pair of oversized jeans and now I can’t stop wearing them I’ve never worn those before. Also black slides. I never used to be a fan I’m a heels girl.”

Stagecoach Day 3 Recap

On day 3 the festival came to a close with a rockstar lineup of more fan favorites as well as more fun surprises throughout the day such as Luke Combs special appearance at the Stagecoach Smokehouse, the SHE IN pop up karaoke bar, and more!

Despite rising temperatures on Sunday energy was still running high in anticipation of Luke Combs closing night performance. Throughout the weekend the general consensus among artists was the feeling of gratitude and excitement over the return of live music. For many who had originally been scheduled to perform at Stagecoach 2020 and 2021, this was the end of a long road and the beginning of a new chapter.

Jesse Labelle who has been "On the Road to Stagecoach" for a few weeks now spoke to me before his show opening up the festival on Sunday. He described his journey doing several events as he traveled across the country for his first ever Stagecoach performance. He also talked about how the pandemic has inspired his music and more! Check out our interview below for more.

Lainey Wilson took the stage next giving a rockin "Bell Bottom Country" performance singing her radio hit "Things a Man Oughta Know" to fans who showed up in big numbers for her show. Check out my interview with the singer to find out what "bell bottom country" means and see her wild vintage inspired outfit for the festival.

Callista Clark another fan of vintage fashion also performed at the festival on the SiriusXM spotlight stage. She took me behind the scenes of her festival outfit and personal style in our exclusive interview after her show. Watch more here!

Lindsay Ell, who gave the first performance of the night on the main stage, debuted her new song “Right on Time”. Inspired by her experiences on the road and the unexpected delays caused by the pandemic, the song is a reminder that anyone can be the author of their own story and decide the timing of their own life. The singer gave a fun filled performance and keeping with the theme of the weekend brought a special guest of her own out. Cheat Codes came out to sing with her and doused the crowd with supersoakers! Check out my interview with the pop country star to hear about her new neon inspired look, her newest project as host of Canada's Got Talent and more!

Finally, Luke Combs shut down the show with a set of back-to-back hits including crowd favorite “Beer Never Broke My Heart”. While it was the end of Stagecoach 2022 it was the beginning of the return of festival season. Fans were more than ready for this long-anticipated return of California’s largest country music festival and stayed until the last minutes of the show soaking it all in.

Stagecoach Day 1 Recap

Stagecoach music festival returned in style after a 3-year break due to Covid. This year the festival kicked off with a lineup of up and coming country stars as well as major headliners that drew a huge crowd. The festival also included several fun brand activations for guests and unique experiences for country fans such as the Bud Light Seltzer sessions, Guy Fieri's Stagecoach smokehouse demos with artists, Angry Orchard's clubhouse with $1 samples, and the Malibu dreamhouse filled with tropical drinks to beat the desert heat.  In between sets, festival-goers enjoyed the return of many Stagecoach traditions such as gathering collectible bandanas and posters from the Toyota Music Den which has been a festival staple since the very first Stagecoach in 2007. Collectors display posters from each year in the RV campground and even after the hiatus fans continued the tradition.

First, the day kicked off with new artist Ryan Griffin on the SiriusXM spotlight stage who brought his Florida inspired coastal country jams to the stage as guests got into the party mood. Check out my exclusive interview with the up and coming artist here to discover how his love for the beach inspired his latest music.

Following Griffin, the festival fans who arrived early in the day were treated to a fun and inspiring performance by Walker County a sister duo from Nashville that has been making their name in country with their strong vocals and trendy music. I got to get a behind the scenes peek at the Walker County performance including their sparkly glam show looks. Check out the interview here.

Maren Morris who opened for Thomas Rhett, also made an unexpected appearance when she came out early to sing a duet with husband Ryan Hurd during his set. The adorable pair gave a sweet performance that the crowd loved. Finally the crowd went wild for headliner Thomas Rhett who gave the audience a surprise when Ashton Kutcher came onstage to sing 90s country classic “Friends in Low Places”.

As the festival lights came on and the sun set over the iconic ferris wheel it was clear Stagecoach weekend was back in full swing!

Stagecoach Day 2 Recap

The second day of the festival was jam packed as events picked up and more guests arrived for the weekend. The day started off with an exclusive BBQ by the pool hosted by producer Leslie Greif and John Meglen as industry execs mingled and pre-partied before another day of great music. Up and coming artist Drake Milligan attended the event and I got an exclusive interview with the singer who had just performed at the Nikki Lane Horseshoe stage on day 1. Check out the video here to find out who his favorite day 2 bands were and more!

After the party, the festival grounds began to fill up as fans staked out their spot for the big performance of the night featuring Carrie Underwood. The country mega star definitely brought a theme of girl power to the weekend and guests showed up in their best country glam wearing rhinestone boots, hats and more.

Caylee Hammack, who performed on the Sirius XM spotlight stage, even wore a custom Daniel Diamond denim jacket with bedazzled fringe saying, “I wore denim and rhinestones for the show tonight!” referencing Underwood’s new song “Denim and Rhinestones”. Check out the full look and more in my backstage interview with her here.

Lee Brice and Brothers Osborne warmed up the crowd with high-energy performances before Carrie Underwood stepped out to close down the show. Then the country megastar made a glittering statement stepping out in a rhinestone-encrusted denim jacket, matching rhinestone shorts, and pink bedazzled boots saying, “I practice what I preach” before launching into the performance of her new love song “Denim and Rhinestones”. She gave an unforgettable performance with 4 costume changes and a surprise special guest of her own. The singer told the crowd, “Welcome to the greatest night of my life!” as Axl Rose, lead singer for Guns N Roses came out to perform the classic hit “Sweet Child O’ Mine” with her. This was a bucket list moment for the singer as well as the audience as Underwood has always been a fan of the band and often covers their songs in her concerts.

Later on that night fans were still ready to party and filled up the Honky Tonk tent hosted by DJ Bad Ash who mixed up her signature sets full of pop country and edm. For those that decided to stay and dance the night away they were treated to a special live performance of her latest song "Momma I Know You Tried". Check out my interview with her below to hear the inspiration for the song and see her festival style!
